Here is some reading material for those prepared to open their eyes and minds.

    http://www.i-sis.org.uk/glyphosatePoisonsCrops.php

Goes to prove that we shouldn't be soaking everything in Roundup to start with. Can't believe how many farmers are fooled by the supposed science of GMOs and the "benefits" they bring.

Peer reviewed? By climate change scientist calibre types? Few jewels there.

When that flesh you're growing in petrie dishes reaches butchering weight, surely we can look forward to two exclamation marks.

In the meantime, check BOTH of them. Pars

grassy, I opine for the days when men were men and swaggered to the bar and chewed up entire bottles of beer with their teeth for show and class, bottle after bottle, blood running, teeth enamel cracking, gums cut, tongue bleeding, and swearing up and down it was good for them. Sigh.

And you too, wd, some future day, will lament for the good old days when men were men and ate raw ground species' flesh they grew in their own pantry, nourished daily with prepared custom feed made from grain and hay flush with stacked genes (that you are so wary of, grassfarmer); pelleted and granular, and selling as hot as ipads; appetizing feed, liquorice and lemon and sour raspberry all stacked together, named 'bursts'; ...roundup in alphalfa with a dabba iron and a pillar of calcium; chromium and selenium rooted in the feeds' ground lentils and don't forget the 'trio snort' of pesticide/insecticide/weedkiller in lupins and feed barley; and altogether, a total of 200 stacked genes in hundreds of varieties of feed wheats...and all for the common good...to nourish the livestock fleshtock that makes us gro. Supergenes for what's in your jeans, so to speak.

        Novel idea.

Oops, I forgot the chaser gene...you know...the progesterone squirt for the boldness required to re-inforce the chattering geniuses. I'm not neo-negative. Or fear-mongering. This is the kind of stuff I'm just dying to eat in my lab-meat. This is progressive news!

I agree, grassy, this 'enriched' kind of feed will be selling well until the EU tests show GM tolerances have exceeded the limits. Oh dear. Another farm product that goes the way of hula hoops. Even though they are safe! Those stupid Italians and Frenchmen.

Hindsight. Isn't it exciting to mull and plan for hindsight?

Farmers like me are truly experiencing spurts of progressiveness in 30 below weather. I believe it may be that extra oxygen has settled to surround the potatoes on the couch causing it to sprout ideas.. LOL Pars

You mean when women could not vote? Or gays and lesbians were beaten to death and had no rights? Or go back a little farther then the 50's... slavery? The good ol days. Even bigger sigh.

You live in Canada. The US, right beside us, has approved it. You complaining about every toxic substance on the face of the earth will not change the fact RR alfalfa has non reg status and has been certified as safe as alfalfa. And also that there are many many more to come. It shows there is far too little oxygen in the proximity of where you type. Why not also blame me for ethnic cleansing in the world while you are at it. Past wars, sunspots, the snowstorm.

You live in a house, drive a car, type on, listen to, are illuminated by at night, and eat your food out of products that contain millions of toxic products and processes and waste by products. Most of which are not in your back yard but in countries where the poverty allows the abuse of regulation. nonetheless you use them without a single thought of your impact. Screw the planet on everything else but don't touch my certified on paper only organic food. Cuz in the real world, your organics are neither sustainable or organic. You just preach they are and have convinced a few uninformed consumers of the same.

The question at the start of the post before you took it over was how will this impact wheat. I feel it has paved the way for it and will be in the US soon.

You're indignancy is refreshingly predictable for a young lad, but I gotta say, you're just no fun.

I did answer your question and spotted you 200 varieties of GM wheat. (Is eating GenePrem making you, er, slow?)

Of course every plant, every crop is being modified and patented! Dandy.

Steamrolled by the same climate changers who argue droughted parts of Africa needs rust resisitant wheat development paid for by the West.

              Dandy.

              C'mon, farmers are cool!

Farmers realize every crop needs to be re-created, developed and owned in order that farmers can rent seed.

              Told you I'm getting progressive.

Look, GenePrem will be great when I get used to the idea of that bovine/c/r/t/b/ flesh being braised with growth-foods mixermilled from GM forage/crops. All government inspected. Dandy.

Be a little easy on me though, because I don't know if I can actually swallow ground meat product from road kill, rats or cats, so don't tell me.

But I must learn to submit to your vision: modify all food, export that novel food to China so we can buy back processed instant product in microwavable plastic containers. All government inspected.

              And UN inspected. Dandy.

Yes, yes, I know, it's safe. Pars

bto has it right. if you can't manage an alfalfa stand without glyphosate maybe it's time to learn some plant and soil science instead of the chemical book the province puts out.

I agree Jensend but doesn't what BTO say also apply to most facets of agriculture today? We have undergone a dumbing down of agriculture where a lot of the real knowledge of how to manage soils, crops, grasses and even animals has been lost. Replaced by pseudo science invented and distributed by the ag input corporations. At the University and research level there is very little real research going on where the results aren't pre-bought by the big corporations. Look at farm publications like Cattleman where the grass management articles are sometimes written by an "expert" from Dow Agro. Of course their lessons always finish up with the obvious conclusion that good management centers around using Grazon to "kill weeds and increase grass production".
Absolute short term, non-sustainable junk science has become the accepted standard across North America.

wd9 reminds me of Newhart. (80s TV show)

Trying to educate Larry, Darrel and Darrel.

Why don't we all live in a cave and eat moss
                      because technology might be bad.

Like I`ve said before, it really doesn`t matter what we want, it DOES matter what the customer wants..WE do not have the right to tell them what they have to buy...Let`s wreck another market..

                          You have delightful humor, fr.

I have to admit I'm dumber than Larry, Darrel and Darrel all put together, so educate me. LOL I'll kinda use your words:

Why don't we all live in on a farm and eat flax because technology ruined flax sales and downloaded flax testing on us?

Side humor returnedPlease tell me you aren't getting paid to sample wd's er, mateloaf. He'll call it peer review. Or maybe 'marketing issue'? With adjusting tolerances? LOL) Pars
