    Charlie,

    Ahhhhhh, the JOLLY RODGER!

Captain Goodale; First Mate Oberg, on a NEW ship that can NOT be sunk... bought with our stolen grain, run by pirate farmers.

    The CWB...

Where... when the facts don't fit the monopoly... they change the facts!

    The CWB...

    Where in CWB theory;
There is no difference between the theory and practice!

    The CWB....

Where there is a fine line between theory and insanity... and where they have erased that line!

    THe CWB...

Where their freedom is taken from us by a monopoly that denies justice and our freedom.

Upper Lakes Group Announces New Marine & Industrial Business Sector

Port Weller Facility Re-Opens as Seaway Marine & Industrial

St. Catharines - Upper Lakes Group Inc. is pleased to announce the establishment of a new marine and industrial business sector. To be known as ?GREAT LAKES Marine & Industrial?, this sector of the Upper Lakes Group will be comprised of five independent companies, each with complementary skills, equipment and expertise in different facets of marine and industrial fabrication and repair.

A keystone in the establishment of the sector has been the acquisition of the liquidated assets of the former Canadian Shipbuilding and Engineering Ltd (CSE).

The shipyard facilities at Port Weller (St Catharines), Ontario will be re-established as SEAWAY Marine & Industrial Inc. ?Initially, the dry dock will focus on ship repair; but we intend to aggressively rebuild the capability in the yard to include new ship construction and large-scale industrial fabrication as market opportunities evolve,? said John Dewar, spokesman for Great Lakes Marine & Industrial.

The shipyard facilities at Thunder Bay, Ontario, formerly Pascol Engineering, will be named LAKEHEAD Marine & Industrial.

?Our Thunder Bay operations remain busy with ship repair in the near term,? said Dewar. ?And we see significant market opportunities for industrial fabrication, primarily in the oil and gas sector.?

In acquiring these facilities Upper Lakes has successfully concluded agreements with all of the unions involved. ?Our goal is to do quality work for our customers and support a good quality of life for our workers,? Dewar continued.

The three other companies completing the sector include: Allied Marine & Industrial (manufacturing, machining and machinery repair) and Hamilton Marine & Industrial (steel fabrication) of Port Colborne, Ontario and Canal Marine & Industrial (electrical/electronic services) of St Catharines, Ontario.

In establishing this business sector, Upper Lakes will be appointing a new management team, led by Mr Bob Mitchell who has successfully grown Allied Marine & Industrial into a leadership position in the Great Lakes business community.

?We?re committed to creating and maintaining highly skilled jobs in the Niagara and Lakehead regions to serve Canada?s marine interests,? said Dewar. ?Canada?s marine industrial sector is poised for growth and we?re confident the Great Lakes Marine & Industrial sector is well positioned to take full advantage of it,? he added.

More information will be released in the upcoming weeks as the business plans for the sector are set in motion.

            Contact: John Dewar, (905) 834-8275.

You guys must be really telling tales, because the contingency fund was supposed to have a minor economic impact on wheat and barley producers when they sold the idea:

"There will be no cost to the Government of Canada.

Deductions from any of the sources listed in the regulations would have a minor economic impact on wheat and barley producers. The maximum deduction of $50 million would represent less than 0.2 percent of the value of normal CWB sales over a five-year period. "

Betweeen the discretionary trading losses, the weatherfarm project, and now this shipowning gig - I am really beginning to believe there is money in farming. You have to remember these all count as the intangible benefits of the cwb.

They really should hire the salesman that sold them the ships. He can sell ice to eskimos. He could probably sell wheat and make money.

I believe this will be the beginning of the end for the CWB. I think that most people will see this deal and see the nepotism or good ol'boy cronyism, and will say enough is enough. They are so far out of their league and mandate on this one it is not even funny.
