    Tim Ogilvie - PEI Conservative

Just reading a blog post from someguy named iceman who is looking at ridings that are held by liberals, but vulnerable to defeat due to low winning percentages.

There is a riding currently held by some guy called ester? eaaasder? anyways the opponent put up by the conservatives is a fellow called Tim Ogilvie. Seems like somewhere I might actually spend some of my cpp money. I would consume a lot of beer and popcorn if that riding changed hands.

Who is running in ralphs riding?

I asked the same question of my MP the other day.
No-one nominated seems they are looking for a star candidate. Your average Joe Tory will not beat Ralph.

My thoughts were Fiaco (Regina's mayor)would have went Federal, but not after this latest pissing match over the stadium.

I had the same thoughts about where I will direct my CPC money. This new guy vs Easter will have a tough but very good chance.

BTW Kelly Block in Saskatoon Rosetown Biggar will be in tough. She squeaked in last time against a well organized Nettie Wiebe. It is a large rural riding with the poorest section of Saskatoon thrown in for balance.

Who will the CPC run in Edmonton to remove the sitting Lib?

Agriculture lost a good ally in Strahl not running again. Who will replace him?

      The Guardian

The Malpeque Conservative Association announced today that Dr. Tim Ogilvie has accepted the nomination to serve as the Conservative Party of Canada’s candidate in the next federal election.
“We are thrilled to have a candidate of Dr. Ogilvie’s stature stand for election and I know that his experience and grasp of the challenges and opportunities facing the residents of Malpeque makes him the voice we need in Ottawa,” said Malpeque Conservative Association vice president Jamie Ballem.
Ballem says the party’s constitution provides a set period of time for candidates to come forward once the electoral district is released.
“The party undertook a search process this fall to identify potential candidates able to commit themselves to a candidacy. We are fortunate indeed that Dr. Ogilvie is prepared to invest the time and energy needed for a successful campaign,” said Ballem.
Liberal Wayne Easter is the riding’s sitting Member of Parliament. No date has been set for a federal election although there is speculation Canadian may be going to the polls in late winter.
Ogilvie is immediate past-dean of the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at UPEI.
Previously, Ogilvie served the university as acting dean from 1998-99 and as chair of the Department of Health Management from 1990. During this time, he was also co-director of AVC's Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Ogilvie joined AVC as a founding faculty member in 1985 after serving as director, Animal Industry Services Branch of the P.E.I. Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
He received his doctor of veterinary medicine and master of science degrees from the University of Guelph and after graduation was employed in private practice in Kensington.
Ogilvie has served his community on Kensington Minor Hockey Council for several years and has been warden for St. Thomas’ Anglican Church and the Parish of New London. Tim and his wife, Lola, reside in Spring Brook. Lola is active in community outreach programs. They have two sons, Thomas and Adam who are enrolled in the Veterinary Medicine program at AVC.
Ogilvie has been a participant in the several Canadian and Atlantic Business/Trade Development Missions; including to the U.S., Poland, Japan, Spain, Scotland and China.
He has served as a member of the UPEI Senior Management Group, the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges and as president of the Canadian Faculties of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine.
He was recently honoured by having the AVC Vet Camp, Canada’s only veterinary camp of its kind, named “The Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp” during its recent 10-year celebration.
The AVC Vet Camp also received an award for the Best Community Outreach Program in Canada by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education.
Recently, he has been Chair and Member of the PEI Lobster Industry Roundtable and Member of the Wind Energy Institute of Canada.

You guys are going to vote for these characters after all the latest news?

The Bev Oda affair, the lowballing the cost of new jets by $12 billion, telling us their tough on crime bill was going to cost maybe 3 or 4 billion when the parliamentary accountant tell us 10 billion !! The in and out election accounting practice , the Ethics Commissioner who wasn't ethical and now they are giving her $500,000 to get rid of her.eTC eTC...

These guys run parliament like they have been in Power for 40 years. They do anything they want and are accountable TO NO ONE EXCEPT STEVE. This has to be the most UNDEMOCRATIC FEDERAL Gov't we have ever had.

Oh I forgot to mention that they are another con government that has put us almost 50 billion in debt

When the news comes out that this government siphoned 40 million into their own accounts like the last one I might change my mind. Until then I don't think there is much choice.

(Anytime your buddies want to repay that money would be great!)

A party that strives to make me as a farmer a criminal for either owning a gun or trying to sell my own grain to who I choose will never get my support. If you do then that says about everything we need to know.

I think its a Crime when any government becomes Corrupt and abuses powers to Stay in power.

Oh the extra taxes and program cutting that goverments down the road will Have to do to straighten this mess out and your kids and grandkids will wonder what the hell you were thinkin

There has never been a government in power that refuses to listen to expert advice like the Harper gov't. EXAMPLES
Trying to reopen the chalk river nuclear Plant when the Experts said No it is not ready. So they fired her

The census experts tell us they need the long form census so get rid of that expert.
The statician on crime rate tells us that crime is dropping but Stockwell Day and Vic toews tell us they Know in their heart of hearts that it is rising. So lets spend 10 billion building mega prison like the U.S and another 10 billion to house the prisoner once they are in them.

This is one Strange government with one Strange dude as their leader

Silver and Greg, thanks for your comments. Its alway funny when Liberals start talking about ethics. Last Friday Liberal senator, Raymond Lavigne, was found guilty of fraud for misusing Senate funds. Another example of a Liberal who can't be trusted anywhere close to the public purse.

How about this mustard, lets all support a party that was ready and willing to become the bloc's bedside bitch in a pathetic attempt to regain power. Canadians will not soon forget the ultra low levels that the Lieberals and Taliban Jack were prepared to sink to. Disgraceful to say the least.

Please enlighten us oh so misinformed one with your raving examples of how the Libs and dippers will support and protect Canada and especially Western Canada while the Tories are bent on destroying it. Your socialist propaganda channel does not trasmit in our geogaphic location.

How funny is the comments above on both sides!!!!!

Both sides arguing their facts and both sides have legitimate facts against the other. So the argument comes down to not which government will be the best but which will be the least CORRUPT! HA HA HA Yes the Liberals were arrogant under Chretien to the point they did what ever they wanted and particularly against the west. But what have our elected by us Conservatives done for us? Nothing, because Mr. Harper is running this show Chretien-like-dictatorship. And doing this under a minority, what the hell will be the limit if he was given a majority????? And I don't care what anyone says that F'r Mulroney still has too much influence on the current gov. He was an ass that both east and west ended up hating and he is influencing this gov? bullshit to that!

And yes I am biased because they Conservatives and Sask Party told us (meaning us farmers in our disasterous area for weather problems) that if we elected them they would be better. They haven't done that at all.

Agristability and crop insurance is still a flop in our area due to averaging in zero productions (2005 we grew 40 bushel acre canola that we burnt in the spring, our crop insurance number was not 40 it was ZERO Mr. Bjornerud and other local sk party mlas told us that would change retro active in years where a regionally declared disaster occurred, if they were elected, did not happen, look at the premium for the coverage what bullshit, nothing like kicking guys in th teeth when they are down)
