    Epic fail...

Glad someone's optimistic but I wonder how much that suit cost and
how many suits the gross revenue will go to before there is any
    profit left over?

4 and a half to five feet of snowfall, water was running in fall. No forecast highs over zero for 12 days.

Ditto like Freewheat. NEVER looked worse in my 50 years. Like Larry said seeding is a only dream. Snow every day or two and COLD. Totally sick of winter and the f*cking COLD!
It's like Ground Hog day the movie. Everyday the same more snow to blow, over and over and over and over................

              Crusher.

I was going to ask the same question.

Fields are 1/3 to 1/2 cleared of snow. Next to no frost over winter, so it is soaking in nicely. Would like a minus night, and a 2 degree day for all the days of March. Really looks like what a three inch rain would look. Expecting few water holes out of it. Exposed winter wheat appears like it grew all winter, and is ready to jump.

I dont' get it, you can only be so big and eventually you start paying 45 percent tax on profit if there is any. As an individual corp anyway.
Are publicly traded companies like SCP different some how? They don't pay dividends so no tax deduction there. They are talking 100 million investment so need to take millions of profit somehow. How does this work?

Pretty wet in the bottom of them ditches the trackhoe is cleaning even water running already. Not sure they might have gotten filled back in with this last snow and wind. Would really like to get into the field early may as I am still not a crop insurance farmer but debatable.

They had only one profititable area in Sask last year - that was Thunderchild IR. When you have only part of your business model making money something is going to fail. Imagine if you only made money on 10% of your acres how long would you last???? When big money is involved - who knows?

According to them, They have strategic alliances with suppliers, equipment co's and grain companies, including every aspect of production and marketing. Thier money will be made on the markets and thier cost of production will be lower than any one else.

The bigger you are the better deal you get, Even at your local co-op, that we all own. No matter how big you are, there is always somebody bigger getting a better deal. Even the biggest independant producers are small potatoes now.

Good description Pars, spring was MURDERED here by 6" wet snow the night before. It's so blinding white the sun's warmth gets reflected and spring will come slower!

Had 3 feet of snow then got 2 inches of rain yesterday, now is nearing 10 below...What a fruit-full mess this is. Suppose to go to 27 below tonight... Only by Gods grace will there be any winter wheat survive this mess.

Will be interesting to see the efficiency of production. Timing is essential in grain production. That is their weak link.
