Government Budgets

A little early for this kind of math and don't know
why i woke up wondering what the government
spending per person is but i find this a little
stunning.

10 billion ask budget=10,000 dollars per person
278 billion federal=9,000? dollars per person

Kick in municiple and ballpark the figure at 20,000
per person.

So a family of four is at 80,000 dollars?
Government spending,every year?

I might have to re-check my figures after a cup of
coffee.

And How much on a heroin dirty-needles bill and unlimited free taxpayer money for boat refugees bill that he won't Tell us until after he's elected? $70 to $100 billion ?

We'll be looking more like the Pakistan every day

Take your pick, mussy. LOL pars

I wish they would break down every expense and what it costs us per citizen or taxpayer. These numbers are so large that most people can't even comprehend them, but you break it down into a per capita number and it becomes something we can wrap our minds around and put it into context of our own everyday spending. Its something that I usually do every budget and to compare our selves to Americans and other countries.

Just because there are a lot of liars out there,
doesn't mean that no-one tells the truth.

The truth is out there, but lies can sound so much
more appealing to our own preconceived biases.
To be able to objectively sift the truth out of all
the fiction is the hard part. The bigger, more
powerful liars don't like to give you access to any
facts, and rely on some kind of intimidation if you
start looking for the truth. This applies to politics,
religion, and in some cases, both at the same
time.

farmranger who do you think is trustworthy?

comments are pretty much leaning one way.

The G&M comments are what would be expected from G&M readers. If you are fed only the Liberal talking points, that will be what you see regurgitated in the comments.
Go to a CBC comments thread, and you'll see pretty much the same thing.

Sun TV is coming soon, hopefully to provide a little balance in Canadian news. We'll see then how much tolerance there is to competing "facts" from the current "news" providers.

so who do you trust? i think harper is just as sleazy and cynical as chretien and that's why there is still the long gun registry and canadian wheat board. his vision for canada is that he is prime minister and that's about as far as it goes.

I suspect that he is a little limited in his ability to accomplish some things than we are led to believe. The opposition parties can pretty well do as they please and shut down anything they don't like. Look at the kangaroo contempt of parliament committee that was set up for the express purpose of creating a scandal, for example.

That being said, this Conservative voter will be a 1st time western separatist if they don't to fix some things after getting their majority. Actually, I think a Li-Blo-ND coalition would accomplish the same thing if there is no majority.

so you think a minister purposely misleading parliament is not contempt? we know she lied and fraudulently changed the wording and intent of a document that had already been signed by the author. maybe if she had killed him you would find her in contempt. the cons are no better than anybody else until we make them clean up their act too.

C'mon Jen. Don't get into crap. There isn't a farmer reading and watching that can't recognize trumped up bullshit sticking to political lips, so let's not be drawn in MP games.

Real issues. We need REAL farm issues put on the election table.
