New pros for this year and next are out today. They have gone down from Feb. pro. Is the wheat board just playing with our mind on seeding intentions and holding back grain?? Or have they totally blown marketing this year crop and the losses will also take a bite out of next year crop also???

You have to ask?
The cwb would rather pay demurrage to get the 09 crop to market than pay farmers. You see by paying a shitload of demurrage they can justify those boats they bought by calling the demurrage - income to the pool.
They have made such bad marketing decisions, hopefully the conservatives get rid of the incompetence if they win the upcoming election.

There is going to be alot of volatility in the grain markets until June and we know what kind of crop we are looking at....
Here is the CWB PRO Commentary and Video Analysis.

Arent you guys that vote Conservative no matter what they say or do, confident enough that they will get a majority and the cwb will be gone in a couple months therefore have access to the world price? Gotta be alot of conservatives gonna seed wheat wouldn't you think? But wait a minute why are you guys posting like it (cwb) won't be gone?

CWB has multi year deals to fill at low prices to preferred customers. This is why prices are kept so low. Just ask the brewing industry. Look at the durum that is at poverty prices in Canada and at record highs throughout the world. THIS CWB HAS TO GO the sooner the better. They have no vision except to look after and pad the employees pockets...

$short
If you take the option to price into next year on the durum gdc you give the option to the cwb to lower the 11-12 price and that is exactly what has happened.
Plus your farm finances a sale to another country. The cwb won't even give you an initial payment until august and who knows what the PRO will be by then. At the current rate it could be lower than last year.
And in the meantime the cwb still thinks there is 09 durum available for 4 bucks. Most would sell off board for 5.50 to the ethanol plants.

Do you think the Board is "manipulating" the spread between the old and new crop PRO to get farmers to sign a B series contract on durum to pry the #1 and #2 durum that is sitting in bins uncontracted?
Interesting comment straight from the CWB site.
Your customers are waiting for deliveries of Nos. 1 and 2 CWAD and high-protein No. 1 CWRS. Spring is always a difficult time to deliver because of road bans and the onset of seeding. However, if you are able to deliver, please do so and help meet sales commitments to major customers. Contact your elevator for delivery opportunities.

What it should have said is:
"Your customers are waiting for your 09 crop of durum and because we are so incompetent, farmers chose to sell to the off board money for cash flow and bin space. If you have any durum and you would like to give it away would you please, pretty please deliver it."
BTW if the cwb has such good support, why can't those board suppporters fill the orders? Where is burbert, agstar, mustard, jag when it comes time to help the board out?
Isn't that what being a board supporters all about or is it about making sure everyone is equal?
Where is vader and his analysis on demurrage the cwb is currently paying on durum boats?
They need durum and they lower the PRO? Indicates they gave the crop away and it was a crop the cwb didn't have.
If the cwb had the support they claim to, the 09 durum crop would easily come to market.
Why can ethanol plants pay more than the cwb for durum?
Any supporters care to take a crack at answering? Vader, agstar, mustard - are you out there?

Well said Bucket. Yep, we are financing the sale.
Under the GDC its just hand over the durum and we will pay you a bit in 4 months. Why should we pay for a screw up that happened a year ago.
This blunder by the CWB will stretch out over several years. A shorter pooling period would certainly help.
