Then why is he working for the cwb?
We know you are a cwb supporter timm, but someday you will realize the cwb is ripping western canadian farmers off.
For instance, how do they lower the pro's on durum when they are currently begging for it and paying demurrage on durum boats waiting to load?
If your buddy was so smart and doing his job, the durum and wheat would have been in port long before they were paying demurrage.

I have to agree, Neil's commentaries are
great. Properly researched and well-
written, with a straightforward, logical
flow of ideas. It's a very rare skill
set in this business.
My understanding is that the market
analysts have very little impact on
overall pricing performance and cost
management at the CWB. Yes, I fully
appreciate the irony of that statement
but it's simply incorrect to connect
Neil's write-ups with demurrage on
durum.

That said - bucket you raise a very
interesting and important question about
the drop in the 11/12 durum PRO last
week.
I think it was done largely to generate
spot deliveries to solve their old-crop
problem of not being able to fill boats.
Nothing that material changed in the
market outlook for durum in the past
month to otherwise warrant such a drop.
Before this, I believed the PRO's were
intended to provide an honest indication
of future value to growers. Now I'm more
skeptical about what they're being used
for.

By dropping the pro to increaase deliveries is retarded, since the cwb has a program to push into new crop.
All it does is piss farmers off and make them think of 09 when they continued to drop the pro until durum was more valuable to the ethanol plants, which is where some number 1 durum ended up.
To be clear, the PRO's mean nothing, no contract linked to them, they are worthless.
Just look at the current FPC for what the cwb will be selling our durum for in the new crop.
There is no sense in pushing into new crop when the FPC is low and the PRO means nothing.
And as far as I am concerned, everyone that works at the cwb is a leech on my farm.
