Ipad 1 Died Now fun begins!

One of our families Ipads died its the first generation. Actually its mine. Hm the one my oldest takes to school lasts the one I use dies. Full screen meltdown. BLUE GREEN YELLOW LINES. It was sitting on table.
Now fun begins like all large companies you phone a 1-800 number get about 10 people and answering systems to go through till you get a real tech guy. So on Friday I talked and had full tech support. Started a case number and tried to reboot etc etc. Apple has a 90 day full support for free it was day 90. They close at 6 so didn't finish and would try the next day. Phoned in and wow they wanted 80 dollars to talk to some one. I explained what happened and all I got was BS BS BS. Finally one guy said he has a lot of apple products and never had any problems lets just say I blew a gasket. Some times it pays to be patient and then some times it pays to loose it.
New one getting shipped and old one on its way back.
Hopefully this one last longer than 3 months.
What does this have to do with marketing some times you have to take what your given and shut up and the next time you have to fight for every thing. Grain marketing is no different some times they try everything and you have no choice but to eat it the next time you stand up for whats right.
The CWB needs that big time to bad most farmers are like pigs going to slaughter following the leader and hoping for positive outcome. I like bacon but for how long are we all going to just keep following and loosing money and not giving a damn. Their screwing up and we just keep taking it. Their psing away millions on every thing from daycare to ships and we all just keep taking it.
Truly amazing.

I see the analogy. But i also see that you are growing wheat this year and feeding the buggers. You could be like me, and have the best of both worlds.
i don't buy technology that I can't fix, so no to Ipads, and that type of crap. But foremost, i do not grow a bushel of graqin for the parasites. I am almost happy with that, but would be happier growing wheat and selling it when, where, and to whom I desire.

Good luck with your ipad. But do you really NEED it? I farm too, and I sure don't. Just my 2 cents.

Freewheat, I read SF3's post a second time, somehow, the message he is trying to get across is, that, he wants everyone to know he has bought more than one ipad, he likes bacon, and done nothing effective about the CWB! LOL I too do not grow wheat. It must make profit, all the really big farms around me grow lots of wheat and lots of canola. They buy lots of new equipment and take lots of winter trips. From the outside looking in, I think it works. Wheat just does not work on my farm.

Freewheat, if you do not mind my asking how do you manage to not have to include wheat in your rotation? I would like to go this way but we are to far from the oats market, canary seed is not feasible here( guy's have tried it). A few guys are going to try barley for feed lot alley this year. Just wondering.....

The no warrantee one day after reminds me of the guys I used to deal with at Northern Telecom, I was the mold maker and the engineers were really good at numbers and typically just got out of school to work at their job in other words never really had another real job. They know numbers and figure complicated equations but they were very shy on common sense.

I grow winter and sometimes cps wheat
for the feed market, if I grow wheat at
all. We are near several hog barns, and
I find it interesting how their price is
directly related to the latest pro. They
know what they can pay, based on what
milling wheat is valued at. For this
reason, I limit wheat production for
feed. I grow canary, and mostly oats for
my cereal rotation, we are in a heavy,
high yield oat area, where yields of 125
plus are quite common, and just a
hundred is disappointing, so oats works
well.

I understand there are wheat areas, and
oat areas, both distinctly suited to the
particular crops. We can grow good wheat
bushels, but quality is usually low
protein, and downgrading due to rain.
That rain makes oats yield, and
contributes to heavy weights.

Wheat has a place in rotation. I'm trying hard to get rid of the CWB. Most Durum unless a 1 or 2 goes guess where feed/ethanol market. So yes I'm doing my part is the CWB. They probably gave every one a Ipad for stress relief. So some who haven't bought one yet and love the CWB I bet I know where yours is.

Funny thing I went to urbandictionary.com looking for something else, but, front page always highlights new words and sayings. It just reinforces my sentiments about this post by SF3...


Brand Dropping

Mentioning that you're wearing an expensive brand of clothing, using an expensive piece of technology, or bragging about other items that you own which are of high value. Brand Dropping is similar to name dropping, the main difference is mentioning merchandise in lieu of a person.

Farmers Still growing wheat...still ranting and doing nothing about the CWB, so it really cant be that bad. Its funny really. If the CWB really cost farmers that much money,something serious and tangible would happen. In the back of my mind, if a CWB job is so sweet, I am really thinking of applying. Its so good, and so obvious, and it looks like its going to stay for some time, I may just rent out to the big farmer for high $ cash rent, and work for them. The last couple of months reading AV posts, I am really thinking I want to work for, and get pension from an entity that is so powerful, they are basically a solid company. Hey, if you cant beat them....join them. Summers are nice in Manitoba.

The CWB sits here... and KNOWINGLY tells total fabrications... is arrogant, dishonest, untrustworthy, deceptive, and intimidating. Others in Canola etc. follow the CWB's lead... because growers let the CWB get away with it.

Had SF3 relented... Apple would have stolen his money.... just as the CWB does... unless we growers scream bloody blue murder. Their 'code of conduct' only is applied IF the grower carries a sledge hammer around... and treatens to drop it on someones toes!

THat is just flat out WRONG... Hobbyfarmer!

And the CWB 'excuses' its blatant dishonesty... on 'being commercial'!

If they are 'commercial'... it is only if growers treaten them...

Just as during the election campaign the marketing and prices got sweeter... then after majority single desk directors...

Then the CWB announce the lakership pirate deal and take $40/t 'adjustment factor' to pad the pool from PPO's.

I do not grow wheat because it does not pencil a profit for my farm. Much of that has to do with the CWB, and I object to not having the right to own and sell my grain/property.
Soooo many farms grow sooo much wheat, it must be working. Otherwise farmers would find a substitute.
I have not decided how to vote, I would prefer to vote conservative to eliminate the single desk and create market freedom, but so far as I know, they have not made mention of the CWB. This seriously concerns me. If I do not vote conservative, I can always not grow wheat, oh, yeah, I'm doing that already!!!
