wd9, one only has to look at MCGA's website for a list of directors. Besides Mr. Harder there are a couple of past Man. Pool Directors as well as other Left wing socialists. I think Manitoba has become quite a socialist state.

        From the site:

1). Open Market – The MCGA strongly recommends that the marketing of canola remain in the open market.

a). Canola has served as a cash crop for growers in recent years. It is essential to maintain the opportunity to market canola to fit the growers individual needs,
b). The majority of Canadian canola buyers, including the Japanese, Canadian crushers, and the major exporting countries have indicated that they have been and are still opposed to any change in our marketing system contradictory to the principles of the “open” market,
c). All companies have established or have access to viable exporting divisions who have gained the confidence of our major customers.

I would think the CWB is the epitomy of change to a closed market.

        4. Therefore be it resolved: “That the Manitoba Canola Growers Association fulfills one of its constitutional mandates to explore alternative markets and methods, both domestically and exports for the betterment of its members, and the Western Canadian Canola Producers.” (MCGA’s AGM January 17, 2006)

Quite the stretch to include the CWB as betterment for its members.

Anyone familiar with Part VI of the CWB Act? It was written before ****seed was known as Canola but obviously applies to canola.

Specifically voluntary and no CWB involvement. Run by the Government and administrator.

Unlike the monopoly Part IV of the Act which applies nationally, it specifically applies only in the designated area.

Lets put the whole shabang under the great CWB. Canola, oats, pulses, flax. And lets include everyone down east. All of Canadas crops under the great CWB. Just imagine the uproar if the Conservatives brought this out in their platform. I dont think it would take long and we would be free from the CWB'S greasy shackels. If we cant get out lets make it fair for everyone.
