    CWB canola marketing

A few comments re the manitoba canola growers poll on whether producers would support voluntary canola marketing through the board. So we now have a Manitoba initiative that is asking the CWB to dedicate resources and by the way some more of my money to set up a canola marketing division within the Board. All for it if we in Alberta can have the option of voluntarily selling our wheat outside the board. If this was to go through my only hope is that the canola growers who participate will also contribute to the contingency(slush) fund so we can come up with more stupid ways to spend farmer's money.

They should just enact the cwb across the country for every grain.

And then do it with potatoes, housing, cars, tractors etc etc.

Then we can be a true socialist state like russia used to be. Interesting that the leader of the liberals is from russian royalty.

Its all starting to make sense now.

    What a bunch of ........

Isn't it interesting that the CWB would entertain the
option of working within an open market environment
while at the same time suggesting it would not work
          with wheat in barley.

            Here is your canola dilemna:

1.The CWB will hold a vote.
            2.They will gerrymander the boundaries.
3.They will supplement ballots for friendly partnership and corporate families.
4.One Earth/Hutterite Colonies etc will be given special marketing deals, compliments of a motion by the B of D to provide them licenses with no buyback. But they'll vote individually.
            5. You will be outvoted and outsmarted.
            6. The CWB will provide ballots to CWB permit book holders incl#4
Canola will go under the CWB

The CWB will also hold a reciprocal vote for barley, in the name of fairness

            1.The CWB will supervise
            2.They will gerrymander the boundaries.
3.They will supplement ballots for friendly partnership and corporate families.
4.One Earth/Hutterite Colonies etc will be given special marketing deals, compliments of a motion by the B of D to provide them licenses with no buyback. Each individual will vote.
            5. You will be outvoted and outsmarted.
            6. The CWB will provide ballots to all CWB permit book holders incl #4.
Barley will stay under the Board

At the present time, the WCBGA is a liability. It has spent the past few years working shouldrer to shoulder at the CWB with the CWB in Winnipeg, with the CWB handing out research $$.

The WCWGA is a percieved as a small group. They have had no political power in Ottawa. They have little support in the farm community by farmers other than their members, 500 at the very top. That is barely a credible enough number to carry weight at an ag program at schools. Keep in mind that Saskatchewan alone, has 45,000 farmers.

Get your head out of your asses and get a voice that counts. Support existing producer associations, or join with another, or form one.

The Canola Growers Association in Manitoba is biting you hard. It is filled with single deskers working hand in hand with the CWB and Liberals and NDP.

Send them a message. Ask for a checkoff refund. Now.

Prairie farmers are wandering around as if you are both blind and stupid.

            Have a good morning, Parsley.

I agree, those in favour of the CWB marketing canola have no idea about how to market grain or hedging profitable prices which are available in canola for as far out as sellable. I hope the CWB puts up a canola program, then it will show to the Canadian grower just how useless they are in a competitive system.
