Ya you guys are right Beck doesn't say radical stuff, doesn't create hatred or rile up the hillbillys and doesn't work for a right wing agenda news network. Just got his wings last week and is going to be pope next go round. Nuff said you guys were right.

Silverback the problem with Beck is the Disease he spreads that Gov't is bad and consequently the americans think that so, They get Bad gov't

We in Canada Generally Don't believe gov't is Bad so we usually get good gov't
However there is a strain in Harpers government that does have the same disease as beck has.lol

We need a balance of Public Enterprise and Private enterprise. You cannot have unregulated free enterprise without the catastrophes that happened south of the border. You need regulations. The main reason we didn't have a meltdown too are regulations on our banks
I believe smaller businesses are the drivers of our economy however gov't seem to get infuenced heavily from lobbyist from big business, who blackmail that they will pull out unless certain concessions are given

Beck publically retracts his statement Van Jones was a convicted felon: http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200912040042

Beck admits the band Muse did not contact him as he claimed on air. (but says he didn’t lie, he was just joking when he repeatedly made those statements that they did) http://www.nme.com/news/muse/47689

Beck regrets claiming Obama was a racist. (but he says he will not retract the statement but rather amend the statement.
"(Obama's) viewpoints come from liberation theology ... And I miscast it as racism," Beck said. (What ever in the hell that means!)) http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2010/08/29/Regret-but-no-retraction-from-Glenn-Beck/UPI-19581283103088/#ixzz1J934ZLMF

And my favourite is Becks ranting about Obama never using a bible when sworn in. Beck claims he checked an Obama was only president who was sworn in without using a bible. (Wondered where he checked as: ``There is no record of a Bible being used from the time of George Washington's second inauguration through to the inauguration of John Quincy Adams. The only record of John Tyler's "swearing-in" is an affidavit where there's no mention of a Bible. Some say Franklin Pierce affirmed his oath of office on a law book. Theodore Roosevelt did not use a Bible at his first swearing-in ceremony. Calvin Coolidge did not place his hand on the Bible, which was close-by, when sworn in by his father. Rutherford B. Hayes, at his Sunday, March 3, 1877 private ceremony, did not use a Bible. JFK did not place his hand on his family Duoay Bible, which rested on top of the podium. London B. Johnson used Jacqueline Kennedy's Catholic Missal (prayer book) while on board Air Force One, after Kennedy had been shot. Staff could not find a bible on the plane. Barack Obama, at his "do-over" ceremony with Chief Justice John Roberts, didn't include a Bible,`` according to Wiki Answers. http://thinkprogress.org/2009/01/22/glenn-beck-bible/

Wow! That was a dandy Sunday noon read. Thanks. LOL

Now I don't agree with gore, but he influenced the world. I read his things while a preacher might have argued my time would have been better spent reading the Bible. But I read something things Gore said.

You may not agree with beck, but he's influenced the world. Willy,if you and I sat down and watched beck together, we'd enjoy it.

              Be honest........how many watch beck?

My post was in response to silver's statement: "name me one (maybe two) statement(s) that have been completely dis proven and made him publicly retract it." and the gloating by persons on this list that no one had done this. Well I gave 4 disproven statements.

And I am amazed how Fran (and Beck himself) try to spin a retraction. Listen carefully to the words starting at the 13 second mark of the clip Fran posted and I provided a link to.

Beck states and I quote: "By the way, a while back I mentioned that Van Jones was a convicted felon. I think I said that, what, I said that about 4 months ago on one of the programs. I said from the very beginning of this program that we would always correct the factual errors when someone points them out or if we realize we made them. Van Jones is not a convicted felon."

Sounds to me like Beck was wrong in saying Van Jones was a convicted felon and sounds to me like Beck admitted he was wrong and retracted his calling Van Jones a convicted felon.

There is no PROPER CONTEXT that one needs to consider here. Van Jones was not a convicted felon as Beck claimed and Beck retracted his calling Van Jones a convicted felon publically. Just because Van Jones may or may not be a communist does not give Beck or Fran the right to label hime a convicted felon. Beck was wrong, he knew it, and he publically retracted his labeling of Van Jones a convicted felon.

Good grief you people are ridiculous.

Van Jones did spend time in jail. No he wasn't convicted so technically he's not a felon, but one can see how an honest mistake, or a factual error could be made.

On top of which Beck corrected himself when the error was pointed out. This does not make him some kind of evil genius out to destroy the world. Get a grip people.
