    Please name the top five......

.... or 6 First Nation Reserves that yous think have the best quality land in Saskatchewan. Also name roughly how many workable acres they each have. One Earth is running alot of this ground fer $35 per acre Cash Rent I heard??? Who maintains the roads throughout the Reserve??? Any other information yous kin provide to satisfy my curiosity??? Thanks all!!!

A first nation band earlier this winter bought 20 quarters of land near me, and we have no indian bands any where near here, apparently the origional owner is renting the land back for the next 3 years, and he is something like 80 years old not sure about this deal but I am sure the deal was acceptable to the seller. Seller aparently has a complete new line of manchinery now. I think this land is much better than most aborigional land. Just something to think about. Should be a good auction sale to go to next year.

      Hopper

Are you saying the guy sold his land and bought a new line of machinery?

If so, doesn't that mean he just lost 40 percent of the value of his farm? That would be an idiotic move.

He may as well sold for less money to a young family.

Ya Hopper thats because most Reserves have a bunch of free money in an account fer strictly buyin land and that is avaialble until roughly 2019, whatever amount not used up by then gos back to the Government. Sos thats why yous gon be seein more & more of them buyin land and payin big $$ to git it, gist like the Hutts. BUT at least when the Reserve buys it yous & I have A chance to rent it, unlike the Hutts, gone ferever. Sask3 yous must know something about the Reserves in Eastern Saskatchewan, No??? How bout anybody else??? What happened to all the current farmers that were renting the ground One Earth is farming now??? Anyone know how much land guys lost??? Gotta be some stories out there....

BTO you trolling for coffee row gossip? That's sad, but it doesn't surprise me one bit. CWB supporters always seem compelled to have their noses in everyone else's business.

Well we deal with the reserves near Balcarres, close to the One Earth setup near Leross on HWY 35, but if you want to you get any information from me your grammar will have to improve drastically so we could have an intelligent conversation. You want to keep on going with the difficult to read posts then wait for someone else to give you the answers.

All I want to know is what top 5 or 6 Reserves have the best quality land in all of Saskatchewan? Also if you know the amount of workable acres? Any other information is good too.

Four reserves near Balcarres. Little Black Bear has rented to One Earth. Star Blanket has rented some of their off reserve land to One Earth. So far all 4 reserves have been loyal to the lease agreements and have not asked to end the leases. Can be productive land most years but a frost risk since it is at a higher elevation. Lots of pot holes with not much opportunity for landscaping, no real good creeks.

Approximately 15 000 acres on all four reserves. Definitely not the best or most productive but some real good crops have been grown on that land.

15,000 acres? Their site says going to be farming 2.1 Million acres. Got to be more then that somewhere? What is the Cash Rent per acre?

                      http://www.sprottresource.com/one-earth-farms-corp.aspx - 2.1 Million Acres

I have followed the One Earth saga with great interest. It's the first time that a big Toronto company has tried farming in the west in recent years. (Correct me if I,m wrong).
I watched the clip with the vice president in charge of One Earth. Now I am one of the 2000 acre farmers littering the Western Canadian landscape so maybe I am a little biased.
But watching that clip did nothing to change my prediction that One Earth will go down in a ball of flames in a few years.
I mentioned this to someone recently who said " Oh yeah they may lose money but they will just keep going back to their Toronto investers for more money". Could be I guess but these investers aren,t that stupid are they?

Cash rent is in the $30-35 per acre.

Heard some investor(s) put in $30 million and Sprott put in another $35 million this year. That should help with operating expenses.

Just as a matter of interest supposedly the two big Seed Hawk drills at the Ritchie Bros Saskatoon auction came from One Earth.

Also that 15 000 acres is just on the reserve. Star Blanket, Okanese, Peepekesis and Little Black Bear probably own another 10 000 off reserve. Not sure how much Muskowegan has on the reserve but they have bought up a lot of land off reserve. Not sure about their numbers.

Blood reserve is probably on of the bigger reserves located in Alberta.
