    Trenching wars have started!!

Sounds like in that southeast corner the trenching wars have started. I predicted last fall it would. How long before someone does something stupid? Its just a time bomb ready to go off. Sure glad that I am a man who has respect for other people, and have a conscience. That in itself goes a long way.

99.9% of the water will drain. People fight over the last few gallons. We would all be better off if neighbors worked together on this.

If you want to trench and consolidate water on your own land, fine. If you think you can drain it into a "natural" waterway and affect no one, you're sadly mistaken. There is always someone down stream in a natural drain(waterway) and if it can't naturally flow away fast enough any added water is simply a burden to them. This is a touchy subject.

Laughing Out Loud. And here I thought I was the only one left. Bout time someone grows a brain and gits the Water moving. Realizes gon go broke otherwise. 99.9% of the Water will not drain, that I know. It the 21st century folks, time to git wit the times or git drowned out by yer neighbours. We need bigger culverts, ditches, clean out the ditches, etc., etc., etc. Government ain't gon do it, I'll do it myself around my land, I work at night. GIT THE WATER OFF THE LAND, that simple too.....

Darn hard to hide a track hoe when it's working.
Lawyers will make money on some inconsiderate morons.
A drainage complaint takes months, too slow to undo this floods issues.
            Use commonsense.

There are several "closed basins" in western Canada. That means the water doesn't leave the basin. When wetlands in a closed basin get drained, the water just floods out the next guy. One guy looses part of his farm to flooding so that another can farm slough bottom. Does this sound logical to anyone?

No it doesn't sound logical, especially the "looses" part.

If your not draining it into an ocean or sea your causing someone else grief. Lake levels rise in years of heavy run-off and cause others to loose ground or flood lake front properties, any extra water is a problem. Last time I checked there is no ocean front property in the Praries.

Once again I apologize for a spelling error. If people picked apart posts of "everyone" who spelled a word wrong the threads would be twice as long. I try to make sense of many posts where there is no punctuation and bad grammar, all I do is read it over until it makes sense or just skip it.

No worries farmaholic, people using loose when they mean lose has to be one of the most common grammatical mistakes made. A spell checker won't catch it either.

A little warm wind in most places on the prairies would do a world of good. (a phrase I never thought I'd never ever say during the '80s droughts!)

We need California's Santa Anna 40C winds for a few weeks to make land fit to work in this area.
