    Riders;

Being that 'taxpayers' are forced to pay/listen to the CRTC/CBC with 'this hour has 22 minutes' 'little mosque on the prairie' and other such 'northern culture'... it is rather 'hypocritical' to condemn SUN broadcasting for starting with no taxpayers funding of its programing!

<i>"Gee, wonder how many dictators created
their own media to spew their propaganda. I
could think of a few in Europe."</i>

You don't have to go as far as Europe. In
Canada it's called the CBC, and it's paid for by
      the citizens of Canada.

I am not condemning them at all, it would be good for a laugh at least, to see how they handle all these emberrassing scandals. I can just turn the dial if I want to.

If I offended you, take comfort knowing I'll bow down to the ground and say my daily, HAIL STEVE, HAIL STEVE, HAIL STEVE. There I should be good for the rest of the day. How many of those does a guy really need to do a day to be a good citizen? Oh I guess the SUN will tell us! lol

Wow, a news outlet that hasn't even opened yet,
but has the possibility off not being another left
wing propaganda outlet, and the leftys here are
            apoplectic.

And they accuse those on the right of being
            extreme.

I suppose we should forget the fact Craig Oliver was and still is fishing buddies with the liberal party. Of course no media bias.

A great big welcome to Sun TV

Today is the official launch of Sun TV, which is fantastic news for all of those who have had to watch CBC, CTV and Global during this election campaign. Combine that with the Globe and Mail (my oh my, has that paper fallen off - Jane Taber is no better than a gossip columnist for the Liberal Party now) and one can easily see the total lack of journalistic balance that plagues each of them. It is really something to watch their political TV shows - the same guests, the same nonsense being talked about all while the issues that really matter to Canadians are ignored.

It is extremely fitting that the first show to air tonight - at 5pm EST - is the Source, hosted by Ezra Levant. Ezra is a good friend and I wish him well, but something tells me he does not need any luck! I had the pleasure of being invited to the SUN TV opening reception and had a good chat with Ezra. He is fired up and ready to go. He is a true champion of free speech, as many will know from his much-publicized battles with the various Human Rights commissions across this country. There is no doubt he will be provocative, thought provoking, and will take no guff from anyone.

The entire Sun team was introduced at the opening reception, and the mix of hosts was truly impressive. Charles Adler, Brian Lilley, David Aikin, Theo Caldwell and the list goes on and on. The best part is that you know these folks will take on those of any political stripes when they see the b.s. being spilled out. It always astounds me that so-called professional television talks show hosts let politicians off the hook by asking puffball questions. What is worse, our mainstream media rarely challenges politicians, even when they say things that are categorically untrue.

Well, that is all about to change and the TV viewer will be the big winner. There is no doubt in my mind that Sun TV will shine.

Your thoughts and comments are welcome. Please click here to comment.

                Best regards,

sorry but i'm not apoplectic. i'm sure the election is happening a little earlier than sun news wanted and would have liked a little more time to get up and running. can they influence the last couple weeks of the campaign? maybe. if they do i guess we get the govt we deserve. the other thing to think about is if sun news is a commercial failure then maybe there aren't as many truly right wing (as opposed to conservative) people out there and canada is a different country than what peladeau wants to imagine. anything with charles adler is bound to be a farce. then they might as well have gormley to eradicate any credibility.
