Hows it goin there, haven't heard in a while. Get that 300 plus an acre canola in anyway at all. Hope you have a shot at it anyway, i suppose there is plane but not sure if crop insurance will cover that, but if it establishes they should. Good luck, i know your area very wet but hopefully not your house etc.!

    Hey riders.

Things here suck. We still have crotch deep snow in some tree lines! I thought we might be a week away last week until it rained every other day. I haven't been saying much on here, cuz one day some guy told me he is sick of my "whining". Maybe he should try looking down the barrel of the gun that is 4 too wet to seed years out of six!!! If we get rain again on mon. to wed. we may be screwed. I won't drop canola seeds on, unless I can harrow it in. Doesn't work well un-harrowed. We are a long ways from even thinking about harrowing though, so who knows.

What I do know is 70 bucks will not cover my chemical, land payments, rent, beaver damage, erosion fixing, leached nutrients, weed seedback, machinery payments, etc.. Many are in the same boat for this year, but most have not had 4 years of this wet crap in the last 6, that is the difference. Had I grown a crop last year, at these prices, I would not have nearly so much concern...

SO yeah, I'm still alive, but stressed. Last year at least I had grown a crop the year previous. But two years back to back, will certainly finish me off.

Thanks for asking riders, and take care.

Hasn't been a great start here either. Dealer prep my ass. Every fricking thing that could go wrong went wrong the last two days. So total is 200 Acres WOW. Not fun even on dry ground. 10 miles south no problem. AH the foamlake line moved 10 miles south from where it was last year were now in HELL. Now drew is calling for Rain and lots. Snow still in tree line. North driveway almost open. Water in Well dropped to 3ft from surface.
Have fun playing in mud Humor is all we have left since mother nature runs the show. Happy mothers day, Even you mother nature.

We're in the same boat here as well, no crop, no more farm.

If I remember correctly it was bto that made the comment, he and some others still don't get how bad it's been with this mud, and as you said multiply it by 4 years. If we could get at it obviously we would, don't let that garbage get to you. Some people just don't get how wet it is with the water table near ground level, a half inch of rain looks like 3 or 4 inches in times past when we were dryer. Now that some others have had this for the second year they are getting the picture and feel of what it is like.

People need to know the mess and how ineffective the programs are, and what is happanning out here. There is the myth that these programs are effective, and it's just not the case, and even worse for those of us who have had this for multiple years.

Kinda ironic, wanted the cwb gone for so long to see the world price, and it may finally be gone and many of us won't be farming so not an issue.

Next 2-3 days critical for us weatherwise. But maybe extension for seeding date and with the 300 plus coverage you have still can get that canola in. Best of luck!
