Are you going to reseed canola on those fields?
Many around here are in a rain delay with lots of unseeded acres and wondering when to quit trying to seed their canola.

OF course he a gon Reseed. Already got the nutrients down fer it. Besides family is Hungry got bills to pay. Canola gon be the only thing that does till 8/1/12 fer yous out West. I recommend fer all yous to go till June 20, cutoff date. Gotta funny feeling gon be a short crop this Fall. Prices gon be High, don't wanna miss out now do ya's. I know its tempting to take the easy way out and not seed/harvest seein yall scared of work, but sooner or later banker gotta be paid. We need record crop just to satisfy demand. Ain't gon get it this year......

Looks like -1 degree Centigrade in a much smaller band from sort of Davidson, Moose Jaw, Regina and Melita area early this morning. Yesterday had much of sort of north of Saskatoon at several degrees of frost in all three prairie provinces. There were even some -6 degree C reports. Thats gotta hurt anything above ground.

It was -4 here with -5's all over to the North East, and -2 to -3's to the North West. And yes we will be reseeding asap. Frooze from N.B. to St.Walburg to Prince Albert to Radison fairly hard. South of the river not as bad from Biggar to the west, I am not sure how far.
Close again this a.m.

-3 here yesterday, 3 this morning.
Canola is just a few poking through and I saw no damage at 9am. Will check today.
Correct DRY frost kills, had that in 2009.
We had a few tenths of rain and soil is very wet under surface.
Grass was white and windshields frosty, but that means humidity which is NOT dry.

You should be fine, also we had a 15 km wind yesterday am that put the nail in the coffin on any canola in the 1st leaf stage. Even wild oats are torched.

Perspective - we have about 600 ac at risk from frost damage. Makin the call tomorow with the village idiots from crop ins. Not nice but I know one producer that may have to reseed 10,000ac of canola - it was all up and all on cereal stb. Not a happy guy right now.
