    ND Durum price "11.00"

We've seen durum prices go up by almost $2 in the last week or so, and that's primarily due to the extremely slow planting progress," said Erica Olson, marketing specialist for the North Dakota Wheat Commission. "We're seeing prices anywhere from $10.50 to $11.50 with an average of about $11, so they're getting close to spring wheat prices in many areas."
So the 20000 plus bushels of #2 I have left from 2009 would be worth $240,000. IN ND.
Saskatchewan its $89,000.00 Wow yes we have suck a great system Harper kill the CWB before I head south.

Oh yea here is comment on WHeat growing conditions world wide. CWB did you listen or did you give away grain again at lowest price is the law rates.
Parts of China, the biggest grower, had the least rain in a century, some European regions are the driest in 50 years and almost half the winter-wheat crop in the U.S., the largest exporter, is rated poor or worse. Inventory is dropping 8.8%, the most in five years, Rabobank International says. Prices will advance 20% to as high as $9.25/bu by Dec. 31, a Bloomberg survey of 14 analysts and traders shows.
“In 32 years, I’ve never seen so many problems in so many places,” said Dan Basse, the president of AgResource Co., a farm researcher in Chicago. “We’re concerned about the world story now,” said Basse, who has been studying agricultural markets since 1979 and expects prices as high as $10 this year.

Those 20000 bus were long since sold under the U.S. system, that's why the price is where it is. There will be more volatility, a few will gain some will lose.

          Well whats funny agstar....

I do almost have 20,000 bushels of high quality
unpriced durum, and with 15% seeded ive got a
financial pinch coming at me where extra money
would be most welcome,so suck it.

Stupid argument as you all say delivery would be quicker under the U.S. system and that grain would not be on your farm. Unless of course you have a crystal ball and can see the future. Oh, I forgot you do! so funny....

AGSTAR I would hold back grain in USA as I would in Canada. What the hell is different up here that you think I would have sold it last fall.
              IT's another option.
So my 23400 or two bags of high quality durum is worth $292,000.00.
What the hell don't you get its my grain I choose when to sell and to who. I have no gun at my head saying sell today for this much.
GOD what the hell don't you get.
Family in ND that cant seed are waiting and will empty one of their Elevators when it hits their magic price.HM your info on selling early is BS>

Agstar you are a real piece of work. If you think
that your point of view is right and because you
think so we should all give our property to you
and your friends, forget it, you've had your day,
now you'll have a chance to get fleeced by your
buddies all to yourself. Give her !

Nobody forced you to sign a contract for this year. If you are so sure the market is rising hold your grain. The point is no one can predict markets, only guess, when you look a year out. Would you sell at 8 ,9, 10, 11 etc? The world won't care what system we use. It probably won't determine whether any of us survive in farming.

So in your opinion the pricing pace model/strategy as defined by the
CWB board of directors (also used to measure operations performance)
and executed by the CWB operations side achieves better prices for
western Canadian farmer than they can do on their own based on
                    individual decisions.

Whatever system is used, they are both mechanical processes that bring
grain (in this case durum) into the elevator system as defined by
processors needs to purchase grain on the one hand, farmers need to
sell on the other and the logistics capacity that ties them together.
Nothing magical. Just the mechanics of marketing.

Its your opinion nobody can predict the markets.

Its your opinion that the board can market your
                      grain better than yourself.

You are entitled to your opinions

                      And i'm entitled to mine.

The problem is the agstars, vaders, and stubblejumpers of the world don't consider your opinion to have even one cent of value.

There is some unknown benefit that is derived by some, that makes them loyal to the end on that sinking ship.

All anyone can be sure of is that markets will go up and down ,timing is everything. I prefer not to play the timing game. If you wish to hedge , grain exchanges and etf's exist where you can play the game for a price.

Or you can sell when or how much you want when sales fit your budget needs or when profitability is relevent - no different than all off board grains/oilseeds for the past 40 yrs. It is not a big scary world for most of us.
