Yah Iwould agree-we seeded late last year around the water and it resulted in headache and heartache. We probably won't have the combines rolling much before sept 1 so were hoping to seed some Aug 15-30(if it is dry enough)

Crop insurance extending deadlines force farmers to make bad decisions for their farms.

In the long run it doesn't save the government any money.

I told them to start the process for the yield loss for this year and they thought I was joking. Pissed me off. They could have the premium for the winter wheat and very likely there would be no yield loss next year like there will be for spring seeded crops now.

We seeded w/wht up to the 13th Sept last year then ran out of canola stb at the time. May be a good thing now as our w/wht no looks like a skinny crackhead on meth. W/wht survived excelent and had a very good stand, sprayed weeds and top dressed then no rain. Thinner now than three weeks ago by far. Oh well, the rest of the crop is still hangin in there.
I agree seed after the 20th Aug and before 15th sept, if you want to chance it - just don't seed all you remaining ac - pretty risky.
BTW fishin is great from Keely to Bufalo Narrows. If you can get a chance, go. We caught about 120 wally's in a day and a half, beer was cold, and the weather was excellent to. At times we had to quit fishing for a beer break - no shit.

April 15th is when you kin begin seeding fer Crop Insurance. Earliest I have seeded is Aug. 5th. Like to be going Aug.5th - Aug.10th, Drill gets shut off & put away after Aug.20th. Yield ain't there for me to continue after the 20th & that is pushing it, yous giver. Some Sob's around here seed WW on Potato Ground in October, & get a crop........
