    Valmaring Canola

I am considering valmaring some canola on with a heavyharrow on chemfallow if it dries. There is no way im going to be able to get in with drill. How many lbs should i go with? What is a good speed to travel at? Will be using either 5440 or 5030.

First of all - choose an earlier variety. L130 or 5020. Personally I would consider a RR variety - even go with an OP - cheaper for you and better weed control when you get a chance to spray it.

Seed heavy - you want more plants - you do not want less. You have to encourage reproductive growth not vegetative. It is June 10 remember. At least 7lb. Good luck.

Dont waist any more money it will hardly cover the cost of the canola. Just take some out of the bin and put the good seed in the shed. Covers your ass for insurance and for Monsanto.

harrowed in RR D3151 May 31st last year. 5.5 Ibs. Could have easily got away with 4 Ibs in the wet conditions. Ran at 7-7.5 mph with the tines agressively moving 1" of soil. Did not pack it. Was a FANTASTIC crop !!!

          I have a Bourgault 72 ft harrow with a
granular kit on with a 5350 leading tank
that is capable of 160 lbs-acre of
product that I used for canola. I am
wondering if anyone in the wet areas
          would be interested in purchasing.
