    Crop Condition Poll...

Obviously alot of talk about crop problems, not only nationwide but worldwide as well.

So, to help us all get as good a picture as possible, reply to this message with only a number between 1 and 10, with 10 being excellent and 1 being very poor.

Just reply with a number correlating to your CURRENT crop condition (not your current potential).

I will get things started...we are behind but at least seeded. 5

          6. 5% left to plant, may not get planted. Replanting
some soybeans tomorrow that got crusted over and
          didn't emerge.

90% seeded, most crops that have emerged look
a 9 out of 10 with a few fields suffering from too
much moisture and some nutrient leach
            problems.

Last hopes of seeding a few possible remaining
wet areas disappeared today with another rain.
Just as well, I'm tired of playing in mud.

92% seeded. Wet lumpy seed bed, 1.3" rain to date, now 100% germ.
All sprayed once, RR canola 4 leaf, a 9, was slow, is weedy.
                    Wheat tillering, 5-6 leaves, a 10.
All needs heat, not the RAIN forecast.
Total opposite of 2010 in our area.

Everything planted except for a few drowned out holes.
Corn 100% sprayed. Standing still wating for heat.
Canola 65% sprayed. Liking the cool, wet.
Wheat 20% sprayed. Suffering and yellowish in alot of holes(20-25%). Early leaf disease.
Alfalfa seed. Rank, green and badly in need of hot, dry weather.

Not sure what to rate this crop yet other than W/wht is maybe a 4 down from 9 - heading out 8-10 inches tall.
Recent rains have already made a differance but will no more in a week.
Well canola 5 - recovering somewhat
Spring Wheat 8 handled drought stress best
Peas 6 short stunted but greening up
We are at least two weeks behind normal development so it all could be a 10/10 but until sept rolls around who knows at this point.
                            No easy answer here

Wheat - 2 patchy germination due to
drought some areas 4 leaf some just
                              germinating
Canola - 2 patchy with several stages in
                              field
Barley -5 later may still be good
Oats - 4 later germ spotty
Peas - 4 germ ok short
                              Pasture/hay - 1 no growth alfalfa 5
inches and blooming grass ankle high
Got rain over last 2 days. May help
later crops. Probably too late for
others. Probably going to be several
growth stages in crop. We will see -
sure is nice to get some moisture
                              finally
