    Very Wet Day in Regina!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished the day walking around in heavy Rain in Regina. Got their early in morning inside most of the day then had to see two things outside so went for it. Lets just say soaking wet is the order of the day.
We had Less to NE in Sask and that is fine. Actually really fine we didn't need any rain since Sunday night had 1/2 and Tuesday afternoon the same.
Crops are behind normal for this time of year. Old boys finished yesterday so all in our area are done seeding. OK went over every quarter.
Lots to see at the show some interesting graders and Pull Dozers.
Heading north tomorrow to do yard work. Cant spray so may as well enjoy fathers day at lake with kids.
To all Dads have a very happy Fathers day.

Saskfarmer3: How did you like your Bourgault PHD this spring. Did you end up with a 3310 or 3320(SE,QDA or XTC) model? Did you get it with a Bourgault cart or put a different make behind it? Did you go with the mid-row banding option or just try to double shoot with a single side band or pair row opener on the main shank? If you chose the mid-row banders, did you go with the disc style or the shank style(the shanks look like they could turn into a bit of a rake). 10 or 12 in spacing on the seed shanks? How did this thing carry on the land, it looks heavy. Someone once said a fool can ask more questions that a wiseman can answer.......... I look forward to your reply.

Seedhawk seems to have better initial growth because of fertilizer placement so some guys in our area r trading their 3310s !

          We have a 3310 with6450 cart 65ft. Vpackers
atom jet boots and use disc coulters for
anhydrous. We also have a 60 ft seed master
with anhydrous granular plus seed so triple shoot.
Will let you know what I found. Also have a
Deere but that's shank and dry outfit. Seed hawk
is up quicker so far but bet the 3310 will catch up
come fall. V packer is nice. Yes bourg is a tank
but compared to seed master it will be around a
          lot longer build well.

Timm: With multi-compartment tanks, would it not be a good idea to put some starter fert with the seed in a midrow banding configuration?

What's so special about seedhawk opener or packer that makes it pop faster? Just starter with seed?

There ain't nothing Speacial bout em'. Yous couldn't pay me enough to own a Seedhawk or Seedmaster. Have you seen their new 830 bushel tank. HIDEOUS. Who would ever design or buy a drill with a shank setup like that. JUNK. I like MRB's cause I want my roots spread out across the WHOLE soil profile. Should see the picket fence stands behind my 1895, ain't get no better. Sask WHY would yous buy a Seedmaster if'n ya's ain't think it gon last??? Why not go with a 90' right away, why piss around???

http://www.regina.ca/AssetFactory.aspx?did=1198 - Sask you better take some lessons with all that water yous been getting. Sink or Swim???

On the bourg it gets starter fert of 110 lb blend.
Bto why not compare it's fun and that makes life
interesting. As far as water were getting pounded
                  today. Here we go again!!

We run an 75' 3310 with 6700 air cart and love it except for the odd problem with tank tracks in certain conditions. Have found we have to set our openers a little shallower in the center section to avoid the compaction. The best benefits of mid-row banding I feel are the ability to absolutely avoid any seed burn with heavy rates of fertilizer as well as the ability to feed your crop in different stages throughout its growing cycle. We have been useing bourgault mid-row banders on 5710's and 3310's since 98 and have had good results in all conitions. 3310 pulls heavy but is built to last. The bourgault carts do an excellent job of allowing you to configure your product flow.

I have the seedmaster and think the bourgault job come up better this year.
Also with the coulters you would not dig out near as many rocks. Also the coulter machines would leave a much smoother job. I also notice when going around corners the seedmaster seedhawk seed rows come together to make 3 feet rows. The bourgault will keep seed spacing around corners much better. And ummm what is resale of seedmaster seedhawk compared to bourgault, we all know that one.
