Highman...I'm not afraid to stand on my on two feet. I'm just not convinced that we'll be so much better off without the board. I can't see the grain companies saying hey the boards gone lets pay more for wheat and barley. And why is it that in other industries single desk or a single marketing group makes sense and works?

"This in my mind is a typical antiboarder, rude ,full of hot air and not making any sense"!
Yah totally why would you want to pool your grain with that jerk. The CWB should refuse to do business with him and tell him to go market his grain somewhere else.

Nightmare nightmare! The board doesn't just market our grain. If you think that's all they do then that just proves my point even further.

Prove it to me. Put me into the conversation of a monopoly and a buyer, if at all possible the buyer will sourse elsewhere, right???

Do you realize that close to 50 percent of the marketing of our grain is done by accreditted exporters?

They are multinational grain companies doing the heavy lifting of the sales work for the cwb.

The cwb adds zero value. Please don't bring cigi into the equation. The feds are not getting rid of it. Although it may have to find some new funding.

So what else does the cwb do? They own railcars so they don't want rail rates to decrease. They are playing both sides of the fence on that one.

They purchased lakers that they had no way of paying for. Moronic.

So please tell, what else does the cwb do?

For example, the CWB was effective in appealing to NAFTA to remove an American wheat tariff that kept Canadian wheat out of the U.S. for two years. It has also brought level-of-service cases against the railways to fight for better rail service and rates.

The reason the US kept Canadian grain out of their country was that they intially proved Canada was selling grain into the US for less than cost of production. Good ole CWB another example of single desk buying.

And the government wasn't working on the file at the same time?

                      That's a stretch.

Rail freight rates haven't went down and they won't. The cwb is on both sides of the fence on rail freight since they own cars. Its in their interest to keep the rates high. They can pat themselves on the back.

What does the retention of the single desk have to do with the CWB being a political lobbyist. We have many farm groups working on our behalf without a legislated monopoly.

No one needs to be rude, it serves no purpose,
but in all fairness, the CWB has been very rude
to me, when i try in vain week after week to get
an export price, just as well go bang my head
against the wall and when my vote was
disallowed because i put the same land location
down as home quarter, same as my husband's.
The vote had to be encrypted, because i asked
him how he knew what vote to disallow. He said
he had my ballot right in front of him. This is true
democracy, fricken criminal. These pirates sure
deserve respect allright - not likely.
