    Selling MY Durum

If a farmer wished to sell his durum production today or perhaps for some months in the future, what would be a fair price.
Would the CWB and its supporters who have probably never grown the crop probably suggest that I be held back to something around $10.00.
I suggest that those who believe in this warped view of an economic system; is not one that they want for themselves. Do they share their above average wage; or pool their seed sales, or share their organic premiums with anyone except themselves. Why would anyone hold someone back and hold them down; when they do not want those things for themselves.
This is exactly what will happen for the next year; if not for a longer period of time.

A North Dakota market report the other day said that durum would test the previous highs in 2008 of 23.00 a bushel.

So if the cwb, according to their pricing pace, had not sold any 2011 crop in May or June and the current asking price is 18.00 at thunder bay, and the prices continue to rise, how does it mathematically make sense to have a PRO at 12.00.

The durum price will have to remain strong into the 2012 crop becuase this durum it pretty much determined, and there will not be enough supply.

If ICE in winnipeg creates a futures you will quickly see durum will be worth more than canola on the open market.
