Now that the board is screwed

Its kind of nice to see the pro-board
    people ranting and cursing about
freedom. It was easy for them to sit
smugly back while we got pissed off and
ranted here over the past 10 years but
now that they are on the losing end they
    start cursing also.
    HAHAHAHA

Sorry, I just had to gloat.

The true colors start to show now.

I just cannot stop asking myself, "Why do they have to have my grain pooled in with theirs so badly that they fly off into such irrational emotions?"

Is my grain that good? Is theirs that bad?

I cannot say I have ever seen something from the board that the private trade could not also do (here in our area).

What are these foaming mouth socialists getting from the board that I am not? They seem to be close to tears that the concept of voluntary involvement is coming down the pipe.

It is beyond my imagination right now.

Well actually silver it is. No more blending MB fusarium grain with clean clean wheat. The true cost of FHB is about to be realized.

wd9: the blending will likely still occur, the only difference(I hope) will be good wheat and durum should demand a premium.

I have a better idea than a referendum.

How about we have all the farmers who believe that we need a forced monopoly, write a personal letter (published in the western producer) to those that want their freedom expressing exactly why it is that they want our grain to be included with theirs.

Maybe we could send out a pre-started form letter that could say : To all you smart, wonderful farmers that are asking to have the freedom to sell your own wheat to whomever you want (and it is your wheat by the way), PLEASE don't take your wheat away from us. We need your wheat blended with ours because ___________ ...

              WD9,

              I do not GLOAT.

Are we colecitively so dense that we allowed the CWB to waste billions... and couldn't even be trusting and honest enough with each other... to stop this robbery before now?

              HOW FOOLISH are WE?

How badly we communicate with each other!

If we are this 'dense'... what hope is there of ever getting and sustaining a co-operative grain marketing group... when we would rather stab our grain growing neighbour in the back... than allow them the opportunity of reasonable cereal grain prices?

              How crazy is this?

And almost a generation of this objectionable CWB habit...

What are the 'rational' chances... we will now WANT to work together?

AND prove we were right... and they (NDP/NFU) were sucked in by the CWB scammers?

You can joke all you want about fusarium, but it is the biggest problem we all face, bigger than the marketing discussion. If you think it stops at the border of Manitoba think again. Our wizards in Ottawa should be more concerned with problems like Fusarium , rather than marketing. If something isn't done soon there won't be any high quality to market.

What has been done on fusarium in the last 20 years since it arrived on the scene? Canola is a technically easier crop to develop plant breeding solutions for things like disease but I note that it can generate new varieties to deal with issues like black leg and club root. Why the differences in the two crops?

Because one crop is socialist and the other is capitalist!
