Kathy you forgot Bill 24, the Carbon Capture bill, which is the most blatant property grab of the whole bunch?
Bills 19, 50, 36 are all similar in that they "might" take away your property......Bill 24 "DID" take your property...without compensation and without due process of law!
Did you know that no longer can you deny a company the right to put an injection well on your land? Or that you can deny a seismic company the right to cross your land for the purpose of finding suitable locations for C02 storage?
Prior to Bill 24 you did not have to allow injection. Bill 24 was a pretty slimy deal.....first the government "clarified" the ownership of the pore space by calling it a mineral and then they "vested" the pore space mineral to themselves......therefore not having to expropriate the "mineral"....and actually paying compensation and opening themselves to a court challenge?
This bill sets a precedent for the eventual "vesting" of all freehold mineral rights!
Now, with the passage of Bill 24, the government has the right to access their "mineral"(pore space) and you have no right to say what happens beneath your land?
By the way "pore space' is defined as any space occupied by a liquid, gas, or solid object that is removed. This could include the roots from plants! Legally speaking, the government just stold your land!
......of course they like to stress....they would never do that.....but that isn't what the law says? Keith Wilson will tell you Bill 24 is the greatest grab of all.....it just hasn't got the attention it needs yet because no one can believe the government could be that evil!
