    CWB Kissing with CN/CP

    Fransisco et al;

I was very surprised at how friendly CN/CP have become with the CWB Monopoly!

    I should have known... !!!

    Burbert and the CWB...

    Sitting in a tree...

    K. i. s. s. i. n. g.

    Loving with CN and CP...

    And their Monopoly!

        Sticks and Stones

        Wilagro!

        The truth hurts!

What would reduce rail profits for CN/CP?

The end of the CWB buying monopoly over western CDN grain growers!

        They know it!

It is much easier to seduce the CWB... than a bunch of grain growers!

        Silver,

I was in a very interesting 'meeting' with CN/CP lawyers in Calgary on Thursday.

Turns out the railways were the CWB's best buddies... had Anti-monopoly CWB papers flowing out (against me) like maple syrup on a beautiful spring day in the middle of the collection.

It was all about the $300M they took off grain growers from 2000-06 that the CTA ruling confirmed... when the railroads broke the law and the CAP and paid the huge fines and refunds to the WGRF (Approx $70M).

        VERY INTERESTING!!!

The cwb owns railcars. Do you really think the cwb works on behalf of farmers when it is in their best interest to have a higher freight rate wqith nothing to show for it?

The railways have always played their cards close. As long as there is a CWB and the border is like a Stalinesque wall, western Canadian grain moves on basically CN/CP. The railways were happy to spar with the board as long as the monopoly exist. It gives them a monopoly as well.

Once the single desk goes and grain could move south by truck the railways face a new competitive environment.

Granted Canadian rail companies own some US class 1 carriers but the threat of losing advanatge might make strange fellows of the rwys and CWB.

Tommie boy has been over the edge for a
long, long time. His rants and raves,
show he lost his way a long long time
ago. Failed efforts to win a
directorship on the cwb, probably caused
him to slip off. I've heard him speak
at meetings in the past and found his
ramblings to be ever so insane most of
the time. Tommiefer, still wants that
nickle that the cwb owes his grandpa
from the 37 crop year! It is what
happens when you get to fixated on an
              issue...........

I've known Tom since 1995. He's eccentric, yes. Passionate about his beliefs, not a doubt. I find him to be one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. He has a big heart for those people and things he cares about. (Burbert I doubt you're on that list).

His favorite comment to me when asked why he always wears the black leather jacket, "It's harder for someone to put a knife in my back when I'm wearing it".

                  Braveheart;

                  Thanks for the kind words.

                  Burbert,

                  It is VERY interesting times.

I was grilled for 4 hours on Thursday in Calgary so this is no figment of my imagination.

I will see if I am allowed to release the court transcript of the proceedings.

                    Wilagro and Burbert,

                    Have a little fun!

Times on the grain farm in Alberta... have been much more difficult!

                    Relax!

Lets build a better and stronger system... that feeds a hungry world... and respects those who choose to work within this beautiful country we are blessed to have grown roots in!

                    God Bless Canada!

                      Braveheart,

I still have the leather jacket!

Didn't wear it to Calgary... wore a VERY thin vest... but didn't need the jacket!

After nearly 20 years... of these political realities... we learn to speak more slowly, answer more carefully, and listen to our legal council!

I have truly learned a lifetime of knowledge... hope to share it with family, freinds... and farmers who are looking to build a better world!

There could be no better time to be alive!

                      We are truly blessed!!!

                      Cheers.

                          Rook,

                          Prairie grain producers.

67-R-2008, Paragraph 9. of CTA ruling:

                          9. It is estimated that during the first seven years under the Revenue Cap
Program (i.e. from crop year 2000-2001 to crop year 2006-2007) the
railway companies received more than $550 million for hopper car
maintenance costs while incurring less than $250 million for this
maintenance. Thus, in the period, the railway companies have received at
least $300 million more than they have spent on hopper car maintenance,
and this has been paid by Prairie grain producers."...

But Tom, in the past you have stated that railways and grain merchants were are best friends and we should treat them all with respect and they would treat us fairly too.

All of the sudden the RRs are crooked snakes...what gives?

Finally saw the light, did we?
