Dear Charlie;
Chairman Oberg says:
"He’s also saying the CWB can be strong and viable in an open market. A government-appointed task force concluded otherwise in 2006, but hey, he’s a politician, and he’s a master of the sound bite"...
Is this really what the 2006 task force said?

Here is the task force report.
task force
From the summary:
The Task Force was established to address technical and transition issues for the Canadian grain
industry related to the change to an environment where farmers will be able to sell wheat and
barley to any domestic or foreign buyer, including a transformed CWB (CWB II).
The Task Force envisages a thriving and competitive Canadian grain industry, in which
innovation, entrepreneurship, investment, market responsiveness and individual initiative are
encouraged.
A CWB II that is owned by farmers can create value for them by buying and selling their grain,
serving its customers and reducing supply chain costs. The Task Force recommends that the
CWB prepare a business plan for marketing choice as soon as possible.
The Task Force recommends a four stage transition from a CWB with monopoly powers to a
marketing choice environment as follows (will let everyone link to the site to read the information):
FURTHER RECOMMENDATIONS AT THE END OF THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In its package of recommendations, the Task Force has sought a balance between giving CWB II
financial transition measures and sufficient time to have a high probability of success, yet
encouraging existing and new investors to participate in the Canadian grain sector while
providing farmers with marketing choice. The Task Force believes that if marketing choice is
introduced in a careful, considered way but without unnecessary delay, an efficient, effective and
competitive grain marketing system will serve grain producers, customers and the overall grain
industry.

Thanks Charlie!
I thought that is what (the task force) it said.
Talk about sound bites:
The CWB 'single desk monopoly' is about as slick and bites back as hard as it gets!
Especially when the only people the CWB has a monopoly over... and extract a premium out of; is commercial grain growers in western Canada!

Look at the bright side:
Chairman Oberg is doing as he always has done... live in a dream world... with virtually no respect for his neighbours or their rights in a free and democratic nation.
Proof... Chairman OBERG is NOT fulfilling his feduciary responsibilities to the CWB Corporation and is NOT working for the best interests of all grain growers in western Canada.
Cheers Chairman Oberg... if you want to blog... be accountable... and learn what a commercial business must consider to survive and prosper...
TAKE NOTICE.

By your own standards; there is absolutely no proof of anyone living in a dream world. A good definition of a dream world might well be where you let blind faith solely determine your position on a matter. Similarly; just because a post does not instantly appear on someone's blog pages does not necessarily mean you have been censored. It isn't agriville after all, and it appears Oberg's pages are "moderated" and updated on an infrequent schedule. What I've seen posted so far doesn't show a bias to pro CWB comments. Agriville contributors (including myself) might very well learn something from the tone of the comments.

Begood,
Eyes wide open has changed you mind?
Chairman Obergs words lack respect for the vast majority of grain growers in western Canada.
We are all alowed to dream... some visions are based in wise respect for folks humanity... the right of humanity to freedom and the right to choose who we will serve...
And others dreams of a power play to force themselves upon people against their will... bringing conflict.
The resulting action matches the motivation.
I disagree on what the posts in the comment section represent.
Cheers!

Someone please feed back to Oberg's blog; the "vader " (aka Rod Flaman) rant about suffering farmers and upside of costing a durum farmer several hundred thousand dollars in 2008. I can't find it in the agriville archives. It's a classic that Oberg probably hasn't seen for awhile. However it was sent to the CWB as for Code of ethics and code of conduct consideration. For me it ranks as the most offensive attack on farmers rights; and I wonder how Oberg sees this type of director attitude today.

Until you force yourself to at least see where someone else is coming from; you will never engage in anything other than a bitter war; which will bring great carnage on all participants; and an even greater number of on lookers and bystanders. If you are convinced that I have had my mind changed by comments posted on Oberg's blog site; then I would suggest you look further down the blog site's pages to the comments of the readers. That is what I am referring to; and I believe you have missed those comments; and the depape post which is also now on that same blog site. The fact is that people like Tom4cwb's do more damage than good to getting necessary choice for western Canadian farmers marketing outside the CWB.
