5 percent off the top! Thanks Brad!

Ok here is some criticism of the Saskatchewan
party what the hell is up with this bs 5 percent
off unseeded acreage. 10000 x 5 equals no
coverage on 500 acres so I loose out on 35000
    thanks a lot BS.
No christmas present in the form of a check for
    this bs.

Its screwed all right. If the government believes that a farmer would invest millions and then not want to seed every acre given the current prices, they are nuts.

I don't like taking the unseeded benefit as I know any crop would pay better. Not sure why they take a 5 percent deductible. But you could have made adjustments when you reported to make up for that. And then yield loss the rest in the fall.

Crop insurance tells farmers to seed until the 20th, then they don't expect yield loss claims? Idiotic.

How would you like a 15% ded because you couldn't finish seeding 3 years in a row??

T 85% or 95% you did get in those brown envelopes is indeed other people's tax dollars. At least acknowledge that by receiving and cashing those government payouts; that you are in the same class as welfare recipients; panhandlers and charity cases that are unfortunately forced to rely on the kindness of others who have their own problems that have not been given the same attention.

Begood: Wow, that is harsh. I do pay income tax too. I manage my farm to make money not to "not pay incometax"!! So I may be getting some of my own money back.

Begood: Also, what we do as agricultural producers for the economy can't even be compared to what welfare recipients, panhandlers or charity cases do. The amount of money we generate and circulate is substantial.

The same can be said about the iphone. At the end of the day its a handout for a loss in business revenue that few businesses get. Word it harsh or sugarcoat it, its tax payers money to an extremely wealthy group of business people. To me, that is even worse then welfare.

Strip off your biases, person agendas, entitlements, blinders, firmly held convictions and excuses. Then look at the agricultural subsidies through the eyes of those who foot those tax payer payments.
Do you still see everything so simply and clearly. Of course your answer as a farmer is still the same; but thats because you didn't follow the instructions

There are several other farmers like yourself, and I too am pleased to know a handful.
