Eff you begood. I am not a welfare case. I work my ass off trying to make a living producing food for people who don't have a clue which end of a cow the shit comes out of.
In case you haven't noticed most of rural Canada is ag based. Do I have to explain more, or can you figure the rest out?

Read your post again. Pissed me off even more. If taxpayers don't want to guarantee themselves a food supply by "subsidizing" farmers a little bit who are producing food for a hell of alot cheaper than the corporates will do it for oneday then they can effin starve. Pay a little now or wait and see what they'll be paying for food one day.

Well guys I am thankful for the money from crop ins. The way i look at it, other businesses out there lost dollars from this wet weather, and have no subsidy of any kind. Cousin has a road construction business, every dam rain and wet day is a day lost that he cannot get back, still has to pay men something to keep them around, and still has to make payments on buggy's cats, and packers. Neighbors nephew owns a campsite, 3 par golf course in southeast, will not open this year at all. No money for him. Be thankful guys, as one said earlier, this is tax payers dollars.

Farmallll. (key kind of stuck there - you should ask again to get that fixed!!!! - dang now another one is sticking). Did I tell you I loathe paper work that involves government?
One year out of 121 and counting does not make a swamp of my SE SK.
It also does not spell disaster for those who are well aware there are manageable risks, not booms and busts if you are prepared to hold inventory. The truckers, dealerships, servicers, and elevators will not go completely hungry.
Really BTO, that practice of holding something back in years of plenty does work, and government aid is never required.
We can't allll farm around Winkler, Manitoba which I'm told is owned by six Mennonite families. (I just haven't determined in which of those gene pools they kicked your black sheep butt out of.) I congratulate them for the move.
