    Wheat Board vote a joke..

Received my ballot for wheat today but nothing for barley. So off to the phone and MNP. It seams that I will not get one even though I have gown barley evey year for the last 20 years. The problem I have to apply for a vote get a signed receipt from the feedlots I sell to,go to the RM office and get another form filled out and wittnessed then send this all to the election office for a ballot. What a joke how many foward thinking farmers would waste their time to do all this I have not sold to the board for years since I got screwed royally on malt barley pricing and delivery years ago. the price I have been able to get from the market has always topped the CWB malt price and I get my money right away....The only ones that are going to get a vote are the barley producers that are mailed a vote the rest (forward thinking ones ) will have to apply and be penalized time and effort in order to get a ballot to be able to vote. This election is going to cost FARMERS a lot more than the small amount that Mr Ogberg says it will...

We got our plebiscite last week and now yesterday we received "A letter from Allen Oberg,...." telling us how farmers need to decide blah blah blah.

Waste of money. Waste of time. Waste of space.

Why, oh why didn't they speed this thing up this spring?

      Profarmer,

More like the CWB 'Non' democratic and 'non-ethical survey.

With the list in this survey... the CWB designers do know the most likely outcome of the tally... truly this is a biased as nondemocratic as it gets.

Chairman Oberg should get the 21st century award, for the most corrupt vote design on personal property rights in a free and democratic country.

      hypocrite

      (1) A person who engages in the same behaviors he condemns others for.

      (2) A person who professes certain ideals, but fails to live up to them.

      (3) A person who holds other people to higher standards than he holds himself.

The only reliable product of an organized religion is a flock of hypocrites who feel that only *their* hypocrisy is divinely sanctioned.

This fits the CWB to a tee!!!

I received mine for wheat only on the weekend. After opening it,and giving this some thought for a few days, a lot of thoughts went thru my mind. Like how a few farmers went to jail so all of us could get wheat and barley freedom. And how insulting this must be for them now. How some of the cwb board of directors always talk about democracy, but, didn't give 2 hoot's about the barley and organic growers democratic rights. I thought why did the cwb even ask for a vote on barley. It's been a known fact for the last number of years that barley growers have wanted market freedom. Why not just bring it forward? How silly, meaningless and costly this election is. I thought about how voting in a cwb rigged election is nothing more than a joke and waste of farmers money. I thought about how the director elections have been a complete failure. After giving this a lot of thought I finally marking my x for market choice. I then photo copied my meaningless ballot. I will be forwarding the oringal to Mr.Harper. Along with a letter thanking him for bringing market freedom to western Canada. I will be encouraging him not to weaken in their resolve for going forward. The photo copied one I will be forwarding to Mr. Ritz along with a letter thanking him for bring market freedom to our farm. I'll suggest that he should consider, immediately firing the cwb board of directors. The ill will some of the elected directors are creating is just not helpfull. Just get rid of the whole lot. This would allow Mr. White an environment to create a business plan and partners for going forward with a voluntary cwb. Thank you very much!

Spoke with a neighbor of mine that between his wife and himself he said he received 6 ballots. 2 for barley 4 for wheat. He farms less then 1000 acres. Reason being I guess is that he and his wife are listed in multiple permit books. Our farm of 8000 acres received 1 ballot for wheat as we don't grow barley. Our farm is incorporated and we have 1 permit book. For Mr. Oberg to suggest this is a democratic process is absolutely criminal. Bright side of things is we will never fill out a CWB contract or permit book again!

              No ballot recieved.

We've continuously sent barley to a processing plant in the USA for well over a decade. From farm, direct to plant. No ownership changes for buyer or seller.

Last month 2 semis picked up the barley. Today semis are picking up barley. Same variety barley. Same destination. Same farm.

Every load requires a CWB export permit to cross the border. CWB issue us one, signed, with a license#. No buyback. No questions.

But I guess the CWB don't know we grow barley, so we didn't get a ballot.

Yes, well. Time to eliminate inefficiency that farmers have had to put up with.

Allan Oberg and his crew can get work cleaning out railroad cars and loading coal cars.

Maybe when they load coal on some of the really hot days, they can reflect on where inefficiency leads them.

They'll opine for their past glory days in airconditioned CWB offices, entertaining the CBC with Grey Cup parties that farmers were forced to pay for.

              Hindsight is enlightening.

Exactly highwayman, this whole process is a complete joke. same thing here, realy shows how fked up this ballot b/s realy is. I have said this many times the only fair way is a weighted ballot bassed on tns produced, weather you have a permit book or not.

CWB has been a joke for 30yrs for me. This vote is proving that mental illness lives on at the CWB. These people actually believe that they have the power to decide whether the monopoly is in or out. Only Parliament has that power. My ballot has been filed under the letter G. They have no power and they all should be given a boot out the door. Next time I see Bill Toews area #10 I will call him a ****er and a thief, and jail for him is right around the corner for stealing my money, NO POWER.

Typically in an election at least everyone gets an option to vote. Mr Oberge should be getting a shit load of phone calls these days. Go hard guys. Its time he got a piece of everyone, expect a response of hahahah.

I beleive in free speach, but also in eguality. To have situations like highwayman described, and there and hundreds of them makes, this whole ballot and plebicite so wrong.
I guess i should go get a permit book for my wife and kids and dog and cat and aunt and uncle and and and..... at the end of the day I hope it don't matter and you have what you want and I get what I want.

                              Wilagro,

Nobody likes a bully. I think we can agree on that. Then lets also agree that we won't bully each other.
You won't bully me into selling my wheat to the CWB and taking managment of my operation into your hands, and I won't bully you into not selling to the CWB. I won't stick my nose into your business.
                              Fair enough?
