New Saskatoon CWB lab opens
July 20, 2011
The Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) is officially opening its expanded new lab in Saskatoon on July 22, 2011. The larger facility will allow CWB technicians to complete twice as many grading and quality control tests as in the original, smaller space. The CWB lab was first started in 2009 at Innovation Place in Saskatoon. It contributes to Canada's reputation as a provider of quality wheat and barley through ongoing testing to ensure grain shipments meet the specifications of a diverse customer base.
CWB elected director Bill Woods will make a brief statement at 11:30 a.m., followed by tours of the lab facility. Michael Lackmanec, the CWB's director of marketing strategy, and Gordon Flaten, CWB vice-president of sales and marketing, will also be on hand to answer questions.
