    BTO,

Why does Agriville perk your interest... and do you spend time reading it?

Why do I spend hundreds of hours working in political back rooms... to see our local politician elected... when there are NO practical economic or social benefits for myself or my family?

Why do Burbert and Wilagro blindly support the CWB... when it is obvious very little is to be gained by them personally?

Folks work to acheive goals that further their vision of the world...

This is what 'civilisation' is all about. Being 'rich' in economic terms is much less important than 'quality' of life and correction of social and economic injustice... EXACTLY what the CWB Directors have arrogantly done to western Canadian commercial grain growers.

There will be a great collective sigh of relief... when the 'single desk' injustice is ended.

Why wouldn't John be interested in the plight of those down-troden grain growers that have been exploited by the very Corporation that promised to treat them fairly???

Again , from H.L.Mencken who "Believed it is the nature of the human species to reject what is true, but pleasant and to embrace what is obviously false but comforting"

With little evidence of agreement by any farmer on practically any subject, it is entirely possible that we are arguing and debating at levels where there are no intentions of even the fundamental principles being accepted.

Farmranger, I am not saying a vote is not a good thing, but the number of votes you get you must be smoking the same stuff as furrowtickler

The point of my post was to show that any vote
to destroy someone else's property rights is
          inherently a bad thing.

I'm sure it's been said before:
Democracy without property rights is mob rule.

Go ahead and have a vote to elect directors of a
voluntary wheat marketing board, but a vote
trying to obligate my wheat to them has no place
          in a free society.

smallguy - so it's fair now that most board supporters have up to 6 votes per farm and in general non-board supporters have one? On top of that ballots go out to dead people and some active producers get none - ya - what are you smoking?

If everyone here on this thread started a
VOLUNTARY pool, how would the group make
decisions?  Would it be based on tonnes/acres or
              one vote per person?

                Dear John,

If we started a 'voluntary pool' there would be 1 vote. A vote with our truck... to deliver or not to deliver.

The CWB NOW counts our grain as part of the pool... before we even harvest it. I cannot see how this is logical... fair... or respects the 'common law' the CWB code of ethics says they will obey.

BTOfarmallll - I don't usually read your posts as
they do nothing but mock and deride people for
their opinions. You show no respect for others
and their ideas and thereby deserve little in
                    return.

I'll respect you and your questions as soon as
you show you and they are worthy of respect. If
you can't do that, don't expect another response
                    from me.

You can start by getting my name right.
