    CWB commercials

The CWB is presently spending a few million dollars of my money to tell me how to think. Love the arrogance.
One commercial says that the CWB markets canadian grain and returns all proceeds, less marketing costs, to farmers. This ad needs to be changed to say "The CWB markets western Canadian grain and all the proceeds; less marketing, propoganda, and administrative costs are returned to farmers and intersted parties.

    Malta,

It always irks/offends me to have the CWB say... right in front of our best grain buying customers.... "We EXTRACT a PREMIUM out of THEM."

    How Arrogant. How Foolish.

If I provide a service... value... and fill the needs end users find value in... the price I receive is earned and not undeserved or more than it would be... even if differing market alternatives could be chosen by these folks... WHICH of course... THEY are AVALIABLE!!!

Why TODAY does Japan buy so much more wheat... from the US PNW/Northern Plains growers...(2-3X CWB sales) at values 20% above returns paid to 'designated area' wheat growers; for = quality???

Farmers never, never, never, never want legislation put into place that can arbitrarily take your money, and/or arbitrarily vary the amount taken. Put your foot down.

Every institution/organization/government is only as good as the revolving communist membership who eyes up your purse. And they do. Learn from the past or you are bound to repeat it. Pars

These ads remind me of the propoganda billboards all over Cuba extolling the virtues of the Communist system. Even Castro has seen the need to change for the betterment of their people and country. It is sad that Chairman Oberg hasn't seen the light and envisioned change for the better.

The CWB is the only grain seller in the world that can unilaterally control its acquisition cost (cost of goods sold). If the ad were truthful it would say that the CWB finds the lowest price and cuts it to effortlessly make sales, takes off whatever it wants for its expenses including day care, the fitness centre amnd the self-promoting propaganda, and returns the dregs to farmers.
