Looks like Stats Canada feels we will produce more than last year. No Shit Sherlock. Lots flooded last year almost normal year this year.
But this was taken on July 25 th. Ah the haze dazy days of summer. Yea most thought they had the world by the shot hairs back then.
I think their high on Canola and Barley but leave oats where it is. Heat didn't hurt as bad.
Prairie farmers anticipate a record harvest of canola, as well as higher volumes of barley, oats and wheat compared with 2010. Farmers in Ontario and Quebec anticipate a smaller crop of corn for grain in 2011.
Total wheat production on the Prairies is expected to reach 21.5 million metric tonnes, up from 21.0 million tonnes produced in 2010.
Prairie farmers expect canola production will increase 10.9% to a record 13.0 million tonnes. This would be the result of a record area to be harvested of 17.8 million acres and a strong yield of 32.3 bushels per acre.
Barley production on the Prairies is expected to rise 11.1% to 7.7 million tonnes in 2011. Yields are expected to increase 7.3% to 63.6 bushels per acre. Farmers anticipate harvesting 5.6 million acres, up 200,000 acres from 2010.
Why cant this info be oh lets say taken last week and put out today. Stats Canada its 2011 get with the times.

So Charlie if we have 6 for crush and 6 for sale off shore will that leave a carry over at 1. Thus every thing is OK for canola so thanks farmers for over producing and this year we wont have to trade with Soy because were not connected.
I feel we farmers listened again to the BS over produced for the industry and will pay dearly in this crop year. Soy will continue to trade up all over the place yet canola will be range bound.
Canola growers association you got your wish.

The Canola yeild is right out to lunch. In Alberta Canola is very disapointing with drowned out fields lowering production 30-40 percent in many areas. Frost was very hard on it as well from this spring. Only time will tell if frost holds off this fall... we need at least 2 weeks to get decent quality.

Ignore Stats Canada. It's legislation...and they'll threaten jail, but ignore them.

Instead, choose a discreet farmers' organization..don't care which one... to tabulate (voluntary) on farm-grain stock/seeding reports.

Provide info directly to trade/gov'ts/interntl in exchange for a donation to university research.

iow, "selling" your info can serve as a checkoff.

Dont know a farmer that tells them the truth. Why is there record everything all the time. manipulation, i suspect.
