    Friday Crop Report!

Well long week lots of desicating going on from
hrs to durum. Lots of canola going down turning
faster than expected but a very hot week. Some
have a very good crop some have a mess it
depends on how wet the fields were in spring.
Some barley off. Winter wheat still not all off. No
combining of hrs or durum. One guy finished
harvesting his canola, had two quarters. Hope he
put air on it since 28 to 30 was the weeks temps.
One freek shower two nights ago.
Few still spraying for bugs gee give up already.
Peas still not done were on a awesome 1/2
section of peas two bad the next half were going
    to sucks.
    Safe harvest to all.

We had to hire another swather guy because the
canola is turning way to fast with the heat and
rai. Had a shower Tuesday afternoon out of
      nothing.

Just looked at accu weather lows of 2 and 3 forcast for the first week in sept along with some rain on the first and second. My farm needs 2 to 3 weeks with no frost for the later crops. Crop looks decent, need it in the bin with quality after two years lo little to no crop. Good luck to all this harvest.

High winds this week damaged some canola swaths. Some east/west swaths rolled up north/south swaths disloged and spread around.

Airplane and later broadcast canola 2-3 weeks from swathing. Need a miracle.

Spring wheat just getting going with reported yields from 18- 65 bus/ac.

Crop life is not saying the whole world, just the world that can afford to grow biotech crops. They don't really care what happens with the production after its grown just as long as their technology is bought, and bought every year.

I agree. Crop life is the fert and chem companies "beeyotch". They are presenting a sad and twisted version of reality for the general public. It deflects away from this fact.

Monsanto and company are not interested in small scale poor farmers because they can't make money from them.

WD9 and Chuck are very smart people.

I have always carried mixed emotions with farming and starving people. My neighbor is a 50,000 acre farmer, he grows the very biggest and very best crops and is a teriffic, highly efficient farmer. He is also a decent person. There are still people starving. This guy, one farm production unit, will grow (my fast and rough math) 1.5 million bushels of oats, 875,000 bushels of canola and 750,000 bushels of wheat. There are still people starving. To fix a political disfunction with agronomics is naive at best. Thank God we do not have to run from bullets.

Also, some oats combined. Yields lower than hoped. One farmer plugged an 8120 so bad it took over three hours to clear it. The wath wasn't big and he thought he could really race. Not!!!

One note "you still can't grow a crop in mud and
                to much rain"

                  Too much rain takes grain!
Missing the best 10% of every field.
Just weeds there now. A bitch to swath, very busy on the controls due to crop lean and height. Plus it's rough.

finished peas averaged 50. 70% done large green lentils averaging 34 so far. Started first swathed canola today. Looking like the first one will be around 50 with the best fields to come. Durum in area running 45-70, Barley 70-90. Haven't heard any HRS yields yet but the fields look good. Happy and safe harvesting.

Freewheat. This is a unique growing area just
10 mins. South of swift current. Dark brown
loam soil with high elevation and extra rainfall
as a rule. Can grow potatoes as big as
                        watermelons.
