So the 'single desk' LOST big time!

68,000 votes.... and the CWB could only muster 29,000 to support them!

    BIG LOSS.

In reality most producers are looking for the best returns.

They will use the cwb if they provide the best return. Remember the DPC, some guys did very well that year using cwb programs.

The silent majority were working on their combines.

Sorta like the Quebec vote ta stay in
Kanada, from the looks of it. Butt the
big important issue, is that CWB
          supporters won AGAIN! Isn't that
correct? Or is democracy done like
toast? Who cares about votin, big
wheels should git there way, each and
every single time. A loud chorus of
sniveling and whinning is in order now,
          Comedian farmers. PLEASE DO NOT
          DISAPPOINT us.

            Burbert,

If you call this democracy... you are right... freedom from the tyrants is clearly the desire of the majority!

Burbert... your guys gambled and lost ...and you know it!

            "A loud chorus of
sniveling and whinning is in order now,
            Comedian farmers."

I would not expect any less from YOU Burbert!!!!

The CWB knew the risks... and lost again.

tommie boy, you don't know winners from
losers. I bet that in your spare time,
you cheer on the Edmonton Oily hockey
team, fer example. Wanna build an arena
wit taxpayers money, then give it to Katty
KATES, cuz thats the way business is done.
Ifn it IS, that would be total baloney,
just like yous soured g**** boys/girls
trying the kill the cwb. Silly thinkin!

Edmonton Oilers now there is something worth talking about. Youngstars tourney, EDM 7 Van 2!

The choice side of this CWB debate was told over and over again by Gerry Ritz that this vote would not count. It is logical to expect the Majority of the uncasted ballots would have been Market Choice. Not all though... We have known this all along that farmers are split on this. It still comes down to what is right in a free society and that is that I as a producer should have the right to sell my Grain when and how I want. What gives the Single desk side the right to control my grain sales? Nothing.

Time to move on boys and girls and the CWB BOD should be focussing on how to salvage some of the beneficial aspects of the CWB like transportation and finance.

                Go Oilers Go.

                  m,

I had to laugh after the last fed. election!

The NDP and Conservatives turned Canada Orange and Blue!

                  Into Oiler Country!!!

How Prophetic Burbert... you are a genius!

                  Go Oilers Go!

The big blue machine wins again!

And as ONE family who refused to send in a ballot sent to us... I have every right to exclaim that our side WON because we were part of the demonstration and objection, boycotting the corruption of democracy by force to take away freedoms we cherish as Canadians.

In Quebec and Ontario they need over 75 percent in Favour to proceed with such scheemes. WHY should western Canada be any different?

What are morals in Quebec and Ontario some how higher than in the CWB 'designated area'???

Thanks for taking the time to make us think this through Burbert!

                  Cheers!

So it looks like only about a third of the ballots sent out came back in favour of the single desk.

A very poor showing for the mono's... again.

Willy, if you received a ballot to vote on whether you should be able to have 1 night a week with your neighbors teenage daughter, would you send in your ballot or would you find the whole process insulting and ridiculous and a complete waste of time then toss the ballot in the garbage where it belongs.

Whats dumb is thinking that you can somehow "vote" my grain away from me.

Which is why the Act is being removed. Again, i'm sure there were many people who felt slavery was a good Act too and if there was a "vote" from the slave owners getting free labour it would be like this rigged vote, but the rights and freedoms of people won.

The election of 1861 was in effect a vote for slavery in which Abe was carried by only the northern states.
A process we in the West are all too familiar with.
Subsequently state secession began and the "ultimate political" process of war.
Rehashing these kind of results is not a new thing.
The South left for 'right to slavery' wrapped in states rights.
The North fought for survival of a nation, human rights only being a part.
                              I see 'some' parallels here.
The board people need to stop rattling their light sabers.
