Excellent point about a voters list, craig. I don't recall hearing that point made before; but I beat you by a few minutes under a different topic.

With a voters list, one could have pointed out that the ballots exceeded those entitled to vote. One could point out that deceased persons should be ineligible, duplicates should be cancelled, and other examples of how the list appearseddeliberately skewed.
But such a tactic of a lack of a public voters list is exactly in line with the way the CWB operates. Its also why I want no part of a compulsary organization with such ideas how democracy should work.

First you have to correctly determine where the stupidly resides. Thats difficult when stupidity comes from every corner and direction....... Then you can count on even simple issues to be misunderstood and being made complicated by deliberate confusion so that a majority of those who participate cast their ballots based on what is best for themselves and creates most havoc for everyone else.
When was the last time that voters looked at basic principles which might move the farming industry forward; instead of fighting to preserve entitlements which have created our present situation. As Tom might say "God help us if the CWB is the only savior for Western Canadian farming"
      More than 'nuff said.

Appearances can be deceiving. Mallee your comments caused me to look up my last CWB book. It was 2002-03. I still have the land but of course I didn't get a ballot for this show vote. If it meant something that would smart. Luckily it doesn't. HT

I agree with most everything said here.
However, I did send in my one ballot.
If it makes me a prosti, fine.
I saw it as duty and a chance to shut Oberg and crew up! This entire publicity stunt has played to the media perfectly. Now I hear city people ask "why won't the government respect farmer's democracy!
Yeah, I'm getting pissed now too.

Pretty easy to come up with a voters list using Tax and shareholder information. Its a joke the CWB uses otherwise.

Considering the tactics used this vote failed the
singledeskers miserably. A slim majority with all
              the freedom farmers absent.

Even the majority of yheir ballots failed them.
Good luck convincing Ritz, he is smarter than
              that!

You fellas are dreaming if you think that a vote in favor of the open market would result in the CWB just rolling over and playing dead. They will stop at nothing to save their skin. Just think about how close the barley result was....51 out of 100 people voted in favor of keeping the monopoly while 49 voted to eliminate the monopoly and the CWB does not even acknowledge that there is a problem and maybe barley should be treated differently than wheat. PS my ballet went to Ritz with a comment to keep fighting for freedom.

Of course they would not roll over but it would be one less tool to take to court or where ever this is going, besides the public sees this thing now as conservatives against democracy.

I agree, that voters list was flawed. I know of one cwb
supporter who didn't get a ballet because this year is
the first in three years that he has grown wheat.
Funny, he didn't bitch about it like the ones who did
get a ballet. I guess he's too busy managing his farm.
