    Rain rain go away!

Well we got to 50% late last night and woke up
to the sound of rain on our roof. Should have
known we would get hit sine Deere is bringing
out the S690 today. Oh well maybe tomorrow we
can see what she can do.
So far it's a average crop using full quarters. But
if the monsoon would have missed us during farm
progress week wow I would have needed bags.
Oh well looks like 2012 will be our year, all fields
are just about back to end to end and lots of
moisture in ground. So with very little snow this
winter and a dryer spring it's next year country.
    Isn't it always ha ha.

Could use a goog rain here to help cure out the last of the canola.

Furrow you can sure have the 8mm we got this morning. Stops combines here for days, plus chances of rain till Tuesday.

Don't need a drop of any type of moisture till June 2012.

Yes, the key to next year is below normal snow, and NO MONSOONS before July 2012.

Need to clean all ditches before freeze up.

I hate to hear people grumble when we have it so good. The weather has been fantastic for 2 months now. Grain prices are good. Quality of the crop is excellent. Most in this area are done. The only ones left are the "big guys" and the conditions couldn't be better for them to finish. There are a lot worse places on the planet that any one of us could have been born into. To me, Thankgiving is not so much a day, but a whole life. I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

grrrr, I'm glad for you, I really am.
But some of us have just barely started,
have poorer crops, and worry about
feeding a young family. Rain is not a
blessing in my country, and unlike most
areas, we are not needing a single drop
until next july. This on the heals of no
crop last year, and yeah we are better
off than Somalia, but not every area is
like yours. I know you know that, but
just bringing it up. We are blessed,
yes, but the canola crop is quite poor,
except for one quarter, ( oats look
excellent if they make it), the land is
a weedy mess. If we get it all, it will
                be a decent year.

Backyarditis afflicts us all at times.
                .
