A simple question needs to be asked. Does the opposition or for that matter the directors of the CWB think that they can actually stop the conservatives. They have a majority and assured power for 4 years. If the goal is to delay the inevitable then the the question is just who do these stall tactics benefit. They do not benefit farmers as they will have to foot the bill for legal challenges. They do not benefit the grain trade because they absord additional costs do to uncertainty and that also comes back to farmers. It can also be issues with foreign grain trade and whether there are realiablity issues with sales committments. There maybe lawyers who get rich and there maybe politicians who gain political points but at the end of the day delays and challenges will only cost farmers more.

Craig,
If the CWB had HALF the marketing and growers interests at heart that grower marketing partners like Bunge have... the whole CWB vs. grower problems; would have been solved years ago. It is great to watch industry leaders like BUNGE prove the NDP/CWB... WRONG about our system...! Viterra has treated us with respect and have been good marketing partners with integrety. With great, fair partners like these... I could list more than 10... WHAT is Chairman OBERG and the NDP DOING. We treat our partners with respect and are honest... guess what... they respond in kind!
SIMPLE.. IF they rip us off... they know the result and do not want the bad PR. Sadly the CWB does not THINK they need to respect commercial grain growers... OBERG/CWB is a disaster as a grower partner for us... because of the 'single desk'! They don't get it... cause they see no need to serve commercial grain grower/farmer 'slaves'!!!
What a mess.
PM Harper and Minister Ritz have their work cut out trying to deal with the spoiled BRATS at the CWB. Reason does not rule in this ORG... the first ground rule that must be learned.

How much majority does the govt have? And do
your oppostion politicians ever cross the floor
and vote with govt. It happens here occasionally
if this happened would it put change in doubt?

I agree Pars but Pat Martin doesn’t . He's talking about something that is not an option now, has never been an option in the past, Oberg says it can't be an option in the future and yet Pat Martin says it will be an option next year. Perhaps he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Minister Ritz and his planning committee can re-
design new boundaries for the single desk
farmers to include the monopolists in Quebec.
Rather like ag gerrymandering. And the
hardliners can sign on the bottom line to commit
to their voluntary single desk monopoly. In or out.
Harper has the majority to so it. They will. Think
about it as getting to pick yr business partners.
freezing when I got up at 5 am. Looks like I can
squeeze out another bouquet out of the flower
garden. Hah. Pars
