If Germany can be a a top manufacturer and
exporter and wealth creator in the world, so can
Canada. We have all the necessary requirements
to excel in business. Including the People. Never
never let anyone convince you we cannot
become what we set out to become.

We don't need to look to China or Portugal types
to lead the way for us. The first has a thousand $
per year standard of living for their farmers, and
    the latter is bankrupt.

We need to work together. That begins with each
    one of you........ Pars

Be thankful. Change go to an ag business and
wish them well. Any kind of business that
services agriculture Or tell them you appreciate
them being there. Send a note Text. Don't take
them for granted. Build good will ..........make it a
      project this week.
      Gotta start somewhere.

      Will you do it? Pars

For too long, the West has serviced bargain
markets. Nothing wrong with servicing heavy-
purse markets. Rolex vs wind-up alarm clocks.

How much of the money is Actually to be spent on the Pasta side of this plant?
We all know Alliance has been very successful in the Pulse business pretty much owns most of them
Is the pasta investment a major part of this new plant or simply a 10' x 10' room with a food processor in it thats good for a PM photo op?

The mock up I saw was a full on industrial
sized plant. I heard that they are planning
on 100thousand tonnes of Durum to be
processed annually with room for expansion.

Something from the press conference but not
widely reported is the use of lentils and
peas as components in other food ingredients.

This plant will also fractionate pulses. So
it's a good news story for that side of the
            rotation as well.

Another point on why I know there is no money
            involved.
NO giant cheques. Minister for western
economic. Development (Yelich) was in room.
But no time at the podium.

As much as some morons would like to paint
all business and esp farmers as hogs at the
trough. This is not the case.

From a moron to the so called farmer rep that really represents the interests of the extreme right and big business processers over farmers, get real with the no gov money bullshit. Is it because they told you so? Well then maybe you are a smaller piss-ant than I thought if they are not letting you in on the truth, but maybe you do know the truth which is worse. Just speculating of course.

You never answered the question what is worth more to a farmer 9 buck durum from a terminal or 9 buck durum from the plant?

Of course it is good to see a new plant tried, more local jobs, owner salary likely will go from 700,000 to over a mil, some construction initially, but the point is getting rid of the cwb is the main point here for farmers to have instant access to the world market. Hopefully it will work, but unless there are some premiums etc I just don't see that the main benefit is for farmers as apposed to the owner. Good luck Mr. Al-Katib(spelling?).

I find it interesting though that it was contingent upon the cwb gone, if that statement was made why was it made? Is there a lack of confidence that it will be gone from the top?

This hub of the business is going to suck western Canadian grain from a hub around Regina Sask. The closer to the hub the better the price as your transportation will be lower. Their other business hub is Turkey in which they suck grain from all over the world. You must be able to see the benefit of this. Even if the price of export and local is the same, the fact that this hub sucks grain from the Regina hub is the benefit and effects the price as a whole. Typically I believe a lot of our Durum gets exported to the usa and sometimes re exported off shore. This hub should reduce that useless flow.

"farmers as apposed to the owner"

We are in fact all owners through our Canada Pention Plan weather we like it or not or through your Mutual Funds investments. Alliance is a publicly traded company with some as majority shareholders, the fact is anyone can buy these shares by bidding on them in a self directed investment account. An investment of 5 dollars per share in early 2007 is worth 22.95 today plus a current dividend of 2.61 percent on the year at todays share price. You would actually be earning 11.98 percent interest today on that origional 5 dollar investment.

Rider just trying to put this into perspective for you, if the Hub and facillity were to be built in USA, Australia, Argentina and not here, who's countries farmers would actually be better off? There is more to this decision to build than just price of grain before after or durring cwb control. As farmers we will have better prices and access to the world markets. Can you not see that?
