Can Ron Paul make this occupy movement his own? I wish I could vote for the man!

Here's a very appropriate quote from columnist George Will in a recent National Post article concerning the Occupy (insert location here) movement:

And forgiveness of “all debt on the entire planet period.” Progressivism’s battle cry is: “Mulligan!” It demands the ultimate entitlement — emancipation from the ruinous results of all prior claims of entitlement.

Let's say your farm income is $10M taxable,
        Rocky.

If taxpayers take 30% from you, you are saying it
should be more? How much more? When is
        enough enough?

Some *****hit junkie living on needlerow in vncvr
pays nothing all his life to even ever build a road
or pay a teacher, but he complains he should
have an iphone and a holiday in Mexico and
have a sauna just like yours?

And you should just shut up and pay, is that
        correct? Pars.

Parsley, I have different ethical business standards
compared to Brookfield. Your question is unfair,
and depending on the issue at hand, maybe I would
let them on my land. The issue that is being ignored
in all of this discussion is social contract, and while
you may want to be an island unto yourself, in a
world of 7 billion people, soon to be 9, you can't be.
So the real moral question is, what is the cost I'm
willing to pay to keep the privilege I enjoy? What is
my fair share? Am I entitled to my wealth at the
expense of sending young poor black kids to fight
wars overseas so my investments are protected? Try
thinking out of the Ayn Rand box and look at the
          big picture.
I'll leave you with this thought. I'm fairly well off and
pay more in taxes than the average Canadian earns.
But, even knowing that lots of that hard earned
money is wasted, I don't lose any sleep at night
because I know when I get up I can go anywhere
and do just about anything I want and I can pretty
well say anything I want and not be beheaded for
that. I'm thankful for that freedom! You should
watch Joe's video on farming in Brazil. That's the
real threat to you girlie! BTW, what's this about
          organic market share shrinking?

Mbratrud, there is good reason to believe he can pull it
off,but i like man so much i almost don't want him to.

He will either have one of those special "heart attacks"
or the pain of what needs to be done will label him an
            antichrist.

Parsley - you're mean. That junkie could be your kid.
And if it keeps them from breaking into my house in
the middle of the night to slit my throat and steal my
wallet, leave them where you can keep an eye on them.
The stuff about i-phones, sauna, Mexico, etc. is just
pure silly. You are way too paranoid! Well, not going to
solve the worlds problems here; I predict Winnipeg and
              BC in the Grey Cup!

Parsley where is the proof that higher income people pay less tax than lower income people?? So far as far as I am concerned it is all just one big rumour blown up by the majority of people who are repeating what they want to hear. Where is the proof that higher income people pay less tax, the higher the income the more the tax rate, in the USA the tax rate for very wealthy is not as steep as here in Canada but it is not less than lower income rate. I think a lot of people need to get their head on straight. Now if on the other hand there is 3 trillion dollars in corporate america sitting on the sidelines with no where to invest, what do we do with that??? If in fact that is even true.

They also believe in legalized drugs-which would
                    make them cheap.

Man if drugs where legalized that would be about the
worst thing in the world for drug dealers,is that ironic
                    or funny?

Hey Cott, I totally agree with you. I guess I'm more
stuck in the classical sense of a Libertarian like JS
Mill and Adam Smith than todays crop of wannabes.
Ron Paul has a snowballs chance in hell of winning
the GOP much less the Presidency. But the other
pretenders are already lining up to invade Iran, like
we can afford that junket. And I've advocated (and
took some shit for it) legalizing drugs as well for no
other reason than we could tax the hell out of them
like booze and eliminate organized crime. Yet
Harper and the boys are going completely the other
way! Go figure. So, my final question is - to protect
freedom, how far do we go to restrict it? Meaning
stopping others from ever questioning 'our values
                          and vision'.

I would agree with legalizing drugs conditional
upon the person paying their own healthcare
costs So I marked that one maybe, cott. Lol
