    Occupy

    Is anybody following this?

I think its pretty incredible,it could be the start of
something huge, its snowballing at an incredible
    rate.

Mainstream media is trying not to give it any
attention but the internet "social media" thing is
unbelievable, its really changing the world faster
    than anyone ever expected.

If you goto Facebook and type occupy, hundreds of
    cities are popping up,even regina.

What i find horrifying is these people, are going to
end demanding some sort of social commie type
system which takes us even further in the wrong
    direction.

The people are blabbing about "we are the
99%,which is basically a wealth distribution type war
cry.which could possibly mean everyone here is a
    one percenter.

Maybe this isn't worth worrying about and nothing
    will come of it.

The park the Entitled mob had plopped
themselves on, is private property owned by a
Canadian businessman. The communist mobs do
not recognize or value ownership. You could end
up with some 30 in a family, from Undo-Nesia or
Sasghanixstan arrive in a boat and arbitrarily
move into your house and take over yr farm. Or
a herd of addicts from Vancouver show up some
Sunday morning. . Nothing to lose.

Let these yahoos have their fun as long as no one is
hurt or property damaged. The strength of
democracy is the freedom to express dissension, or
isn't it? I spend a lot of time in NE USA, was there
last month in fact. NYC more or less escaped the
recession, NJ and VT are total basket cases. I have
one observation to pass on. Canada has a small
handful of billionaires, US has thousands and
thousands. Us prairie dogs have no concept of what
'rich' is. Had the fortune to meet a guy who
commutes from his estate on Long Island to his
office in Manhattan by helicopter! I don't think there
is a Western farmer alive who fits into the 1% Cott
            mentioned.

I hope we end up with 1Million billionaires in
Canada. Minimum. They can afford to help
develop a lot of businesses. Hire lots of people.
They don't EAT the money or bury it. It goes into
              circulation. To create more wealth.

The other extreme is to be Bangladesh They
              are equally poor

Rocky: Wealth doesn't grow via distribution. It
              grows by creation. Pars

October 15 is global revolution day.

We might get lucky and see the libertarian
movement pop up like what is happening in the
                states but i doubt it.

We will end up with bigger and bigger government
and our standards of living will continue to decline
and the lefttards will stand around scratching their
heads trying to find someone to blame and tax and
never knowing that their moronic view of how an
economy should be organized is to blame.

The .1%'ers will be laughing their asses off in
monocco and the rest of us .9%ers will be paying of
harry i only use coke once in a while house in
toronto because he lost his 150,000k a year toronto
real-estate job because those damn 1% ers screwed
                him..

And if your assets are worth a million dollars trust
                me,they call you a 1%.

Parsley, I have no problem with having the
billionaires and yes they do create wealth and
growth for others. The central issue that is driving
these protests I think is clearly put forward by
Warren Buffet. Earned nearly 70 mil personal
income and paid about 10% tax. Some poor
schmuck riding the back of a garbage truck paid
25% tax. That is the inequality. If I made 70 mil and
paid 30%, I'd still be stinking rich. And I resent the
fact that when the S**t hit the fan, taxpayers made
sure these poor souls didn't lose their bonuses.
Cott, a few million in non liquid assets is not going
to be noticed and I highly doubt anyone wants to
take away your land because then they'd have to
work their asses off to make it pay, and they're not
into that. So take a pill Jill, and be damn grateful we
are living here. Just this once, I'll quote Tom - God
(or whatever you worship) bless Canada! And guys,
give Don Cherry a break for crying out loud!

I have a US grain buyer, he has house, wife, 3 kids. He goes to work everyday to create valuable transactions to add value to the company so he can get his salary. This guy grew up on a farm in Iowa skinning muskrats for extra money. He is 42 yrs old, but when living on the farm, they were extremely cash poor. He understands money, and he understands no money. He now owns a few rental properties in Omaha for a sideline, he pays his bills and has no sympathy for the Occupy movement. He is a very modest American citizen and I admire what he is doing. Not very interesting some days, but he will feed and shelter his family. His only statement about Occupy is, that the protesting will cool down in direct relation to the weather!!!! "When the mercury drops below 55F, they will scurry like rats!"

Imo,there are several reasons for all this and some
                        of them are good.

Taxpayers shouldn't be put on the hook for others
mistakes is one,but something like that gets lost in
                        the all the chaos.

There are problems that need solutions but the
solutions that are floating around in peoples heads
                        will make things worse.

I seriously wonder when these people get their
paychecks if they even look at what the government
takes?Or when they buy something if know exactly
what a gst pst is and where it goes?Or why things
                        continually get more expensive?

I think they are exhibiting their fear of the future in America. It will not be as comfortable as in the past. Fortunately in the USA these citizens have the right of free speech. Protest vs. government in Uganda, and they will cut your head off and kick it around in the street. Those yankee protesters would be a bunch of no head, no starbucks drinking, no Gucci mitten wearing carcasses in a different country. Somebody has forgotten to count their blessings!

You are technically wrong about the taxation, but
I will nor argue over % of tax paid or cap gains
paid and you know that all too well.
Cott pays 30% and Malta pays 40% and Tom
pays 50%. The pound of flesh on the scale
varies per class and per year

The point is this: do you want the billionaires to
move to another country or not ? Grenada?
Grand cayman? Buffet can. He's simply
                            campaigning. Pars

What bothers me, rocky, is that you dont value a
Canadian business man's property in NYC He
paid for it, he has a bunch of squatters move on
it, defecate on it, and devalue it Police won't
                              defend his property.

Would you feel the same if it was your farm?
