Here i go . I have never submitted anything on this
forum or any other for that matter however this
topic is very close to my heart and pocket book. I
am a semi retired farmer who among other money
making interests do write options on stocks i own
and sometimes just options. Suffice it to say i make
money lots of money at this and yes i follow Andy
Sirski and what he does but the final decisions
always rest with myself and my own skill that i have
learned over the years
I taught myself this skill a few years ago and it took
time and due diligence but was not all that hard. If i
could anyone could. The key thing is you have to do
the math your self and stay away from brokers and
so called advisors that will bleed your capital dry.
Dont even get me started on mutual funds. When
you are ready there are a ton of websites out there
where you can learn the ropes with pretend money.
That being said the learning curve is much faster
with your own skin in the game.
To Hobbyfarmer yes you can do this. For starters
e-mail Andy Sirski and talk to him one on one and
take his newsletter. His address is always on the
bottom of his Grain news articles. If you are
geniunely interested you wont be sorry.
To Hopperbin two comments. 1/ so i could learn
from your mistakes what exactly went wrong when
YOU bought and sold options? 2/ There is an old
Ukrainian saying that goes like this. Why am i poor?
Because i am stupid? Why am i stupid? Because i am
poor. Lets all try to stay out of that vicious circle.
In closing i must say i am very impressed with most
of the contributers here and judging how you
discuss things important to your own business if
you wanted to most of you could make it a cake
walk investing in the stock market.
