If the yes vote ends up winning I will be very surprised once port of churchill and their families all start voting, same for omnitrax, laker companies, Quebec gov't. They all want to keep the status quo in fear of the future. Non farmers and the retired are now protesting while the real farmers are either working or holidaying now because of their work load. Hope the Churchill ports and laker shippers get used more, or if they find alternative business like coal, etc. So shut the fear mongers up already.

Actually, I don't see any point in a poll about farm marketing in a NATIONAL poll where the general population gets to vote. So now we have stupid city dwellers and people from far-flung locations like the Arctic and Newfoundland voting YES or NO on a matter of no concern to them...dumb, dumb, dumb.
It doesn't matter anyway. The stupid government could have just made the CWB voluntary without all the BS they seem to love, and the matter would have been solved. Changing the compulsory aspect would have taken little effort, expense or time. Why do political parties do things in the most obtuse way? All they did was cause dissension, stress and turn farmer against farmer.
What they will have accomplished when this new legislation is enacted is the COMPLETE destruction of the CWB within five years time. This I believe was their real objective in the first place...all this other posturing crap was a smokescreen.

I see less point in letting retired and/or dead farmers vote in a survey, which purposely excludes actual farmers, and then demand that an elected government continue to ignore the property rights of the very farmers who's expropriated grain paid for the bogus survey (and the dog and pony show to promote it).

Wil, don't forget that the CWB is federal
legislation and applies to all of Canada. Licenses,
necessary for both interprovincial trade and
export trade, whether its a load of wheatsales
made by malta or Viterra, is Issued SOLEY at
the discretion of the CWB. pars
