    2012 Canola Acres??????

Assuming everyone can seed everything, whats the plans for canola? Seed costs are wild. Everyone wants payment 6 months in advance on most Invigors. Seed is up about 5 buks/ac. I booked 2000 ac of 5440 and L130, then 5 days later cancelled it all. Fert prices are soaring higher every wk. With the demolishing of the CWB 10 buk durum will make me more cash than 11.50 canola, and not near the risk.

3500 wheat and 500 durum and 500 oats and 500 barley.
    4000 canola and 1000 peas.
    Seed ready to go.

Things are still up in the air.... Lots of flax acres for
        me... Probably around 320 canola.

Invigor seed is retarded. May just grow all 9553... It
works well for me and it's only $6/lb.

Have a look at new varieties and plot results. RR hybrids are just as good. Often farmers put the invigor in first on the best land and are confident the variety is better. Treat them exactly the same and they are the same in the end. Lots of good data out there.

Also liberty canola has big time grading issues around here with cleavers. As far as overall acres, I see little change in numbers from last year on everything prarie wide.

So many years I grew RR and every year I cuss at the head ache and cost to controle the volunteers, as far as I am concerned it is a problem. As I mentioned before when hauling to adm and the 1 percent dockage when all other are 1.5 to 7 says something. Got hold of invigor name on it and chemical is cheaper this year so must take that into account also.
