Does the act allow them to spend money this way. I think its time for the folks that want change to get off their ass and stand behind the government and start making some noise before something stupid happens.

Supreme Court dismisses CWB application

On January 21, 2010, the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed an application from the CWB for leave to appeal a ruling on the Government of Canada's advocacy directive. No reasons were provided. As a result, the directive - initially issued in October 2006 - remains in force. It prevents the CWB from spending money "advocating retention of the CWB's monopoly powers".

Larry, can the CWB directors be held legally responsible or does the corporation carry that charge?

Exactly Lweber, I'm not sure why this is not being enforced. Do a couple of farmers need to file a complaint with the RCMP??? What's the deal? This is crazy.

All I know is the Pro Monopoly side is getting a lot more media and beating there drums loader than the choice side. Even though this thing looks like it’s done, the Choice side better get a voice and make sure both sides are heard. Right now to the average Joe it looks like the Government is ramming this down farmers throats. People are not seeing the farmers that are backing them. If there are 30000 plus farmers out there wanting change why the hell are we not hearing from them? I know they are out there a little survey in my neighborhood would be at least 70% in favor of market freedom.

Here's a quote from Maximum Leader Oberg in today's National Post:

'“Governments can either obey the law, they can change the law, but they can’t ignore the law, and that’s what’s happened here,” Oberg said at a news conference on a Manitoba farm.'

Is Oberg so out of it that he doesn't even listen to his own statements? The Tories are doing exactly what he mentions: changing the law, which, by right of hundreds of years of parliamentary tradition, they are well within their right to do so. Even Pat Martin concedes that the fight is over. If Oberg were captain of the Titanic, he would probably deny that they ever hit an iceberg while standing in three feet of water on the bridge.

My hat is off to Henry Vos for resigning rather than be a party to this nonsense.

I can understand that you are "antsy" though as all this "freedom" crusade is pretty heady stuff and it might all come crashing down because of a "power-trip" by Ritz in attempting to DISCHARGE the 10 elected members of the BOD and SEIZE power. Not a very friendly move by any stretch of the imagination.
