Well it will require a fleet of experts to tell farmers how to deal with the open market and the stock exchange and its terminology. All those PUTS and SHOVES, HEDGES and DISCOUNTS and various RISK TAKING maneuvers and ASS COVERAGE and FUTURES and PERFORMANCE BONDS and a whole kaleidoscope of ifs, ands or buts.

freewheat, anything is possible with an entity that isn't subject to independent financial audits.

Forced participation and no independent financial audits, gee, what could possibly go wrong with that? /sarc

I was told once by a guy who was VERY involved in wheat board politics that this was part of the issue. There had been death threats to certain members that if they touched the cwb, family members would perish. This stuck in my head for the last 12 or so years, and now, as I have mentioned in passing before, adds up to make a whole lot of sense.

If this is the case, Ritz and the conservatives could be making some very gutsy moves on this issue.

When has the cwb ever given any insight into the marketing of your grain? They use puts calls hedges to sell our grain on the mgex.

Nothing in their weekly commentary as to how they are doing it. Not even an explanation as to how they lost 250 million in discretionary trading.

Rogue traders in a marketing firm usually go to jail or at the very least lose their job.
