    Wpg rally

    Organizers were expecting 2000 people to show
    today for the procession downtown to the CWB
    building. Reading numbers as low as 150 showed up.
    This included union and other supports. So where is
    the support from the farmers?

    Two things went against the organizers it was
    nap time at the old folks home and Walmart had
    a sale on depends. Wonder when the main
    stream media will have to start reporting that the
    ground swell of support is not there ! Oh yah I
    forgot the CWB still has an advertising dept full
    of cash .

      Here are some tweets from wpg sun reporter Tom Brodbeck.

      "What happened to the “thousands” who were supposed to be at CWB today? I see maybe 125."

      "And then there’s Maude…..Barlow at CWB. Make that 126"

      "Take away the Occupy Winnipeg folks, the union leaders and Stan Struthers and you may have a few dozen at CWB right now."

      "This little rally at CWB (still only about 150 people) is basically a partisan rally. Mostly NDPers and union guys"

      "That’s pretty much it for the CWB rally. 200 people tops, including journalists and cops."

                Here are 5 things you can do:

                Plan to attend this protest and build the movement to protect the CWB;
                Call farmers in your area, tell them about the event, urge them to attend, and ask them to make calls too;
                If you’re outside the Winnipeg area, work to get people onto the buses or into other vehicles to travel to the demonstration;

                If you are near Winnipeg, help with the preparations for the event; and
                Support this work financially by contributing to one of the organizations doing this work.

                  The call went out across three provinces and all they got was a few dozen "farmers"... and Maude Barlow.

                  That is some absolutely massive, massive support there.

                      Maybe if some of those union people were told to wait 18 months for their paycheques and their wages could drop with a new contract they might be supporting a different cause.

                        That picture pretty much says it all. They should
                        take a page from the colony and have a dance
                        with the next town to add a little depth to the
                        gene pool. The one their using seems to have a
                        bit of scum on it LOL

                            Just what I need, a bunch of iphone hippies protesting against farmers for wanting to sell their own grain.

                            They have it all wrong, the cwb is the "man" they should be protesting against. They are all ****heads.

                            If they need a job they should be sent out to a farm to learn how to work, they might also like the neat gadgets on a modern day tractor.
