    Market and seeding Predictions

Any predictions on seeding and next years prices for the products.

Here is my predictions. I think there will be a lot of yellow mustard and canary seed seeded this spring and if there is a good crop that will drive the prices down. I think the chickpea acres both the desi and the large kabulis will be down and it might be a good year to try the large kabulis or desis again and i think the price for large kabulis will be over 30cents/pound next winter. I think there will be lots of small kabulis seeded like the b-90's and the price for them will be about the same price as the desis. Yellow pea acres down a bit from last year and the price will go down also. Lentils acres the same with the prices staying the same or climbing up a bit. Durum acres going up with the price dropping a bit unless there is a drought. Wheat acres staying around the same with the price staying the same.

Barley, oats acres going up and the prices dropping down.

This is just what I am guessing will happen at this time. What are your predictions? It will be good to look back here after harvest and see how our predictions panned out.

Before I step up to the plate and make my fearless forecasts, how much occurred in eastern Alberta and northern Saskatchewan? No snow equals more wheat than expected. Reasonable snow (at least enough top soil moisture to get the crop started) equals more barley and canola.
