    Another theory re: cwb

As you know I have postulated a theory at times on here which speculates that the hierarhcy of the board are puppets for mafia like organized croime, and are fearful for their lives and the lives of their families, if they let the cwb die.

What about another theory. As we watch with amazement Oberg and the other nuts seem to truly lose their marbles, is there maybe fear of other criminal issues? Are they affraid the govn't will find information regarding criminal activity within the board, such as voter list shuffling, money shuffling, or other fraudulent activity?

I am trying hard to understand their fear of cwb collapse. As I realize there is no common sense reason for one to act so insane and so desperate, other conclusions must be drawn. I believe it must be one or the other, or they would have at least openly moved forward.

Remember, you heard it here first!

I have often wondered this same thing. Such
desperation. Who are the kingpins? There must
be some horrifically powerful top pins.

There could be something sinister behind the
    scenes. Happy Halloween !

Your not the only one to think that, I 've often
      wondered why politicians, particularly eastern
politicians have such a keen interest in keeping
the status quo at the CWB.

You mean like the "honorable" member for Malpeque? An islander telling western farmers what is best for them is strange indeed.

I don't think the resolve of the Pro Directors and CWB supporters is any different than that of the Anti CWBers. There are zealots living in both camps. Too bad the Pro Directors didn't ease up sooner and work towards a viable solution, time will tell if they become a viable entity. Same with the Anti side, to hell with deadlines. If it going to be changed/unwound, do it right.

I agree it seems to me they are all afraid of something. Every where from Politicians to Unions all way down.
They all knew it was going to happen (gee like the outcome of the election Monday) so why not compromise and create a new CWB.

If you bring in the Auzzie wheat for guns issue, the possiblity that auzzie wheat helped killer our soldiers and those board directors that made that decision would not of made it as individials, proves that absolute power makes you stupid. Drag that into our situation and you have a high percentage of chance that there is some corruption because of absolute power.

Well it does bring up another question. When the board no longer exists, will an audit occur showing once and for all just how good or poor they were?

I would speculate that the general public will never know the true level of corruption within the ranks of the CWB even after the iron curtain has been lifted. I'm sure any government in power will simply withhold full disclosure of any dirty dealings because of what they perceive as the overall benefit to the entire country. Full disclosure will only cost the federal treasury money in the form of compensation to Western Canada. Any one remember the Warren Commission with regards to the JFK assassination? Full disclosure in that case was withheld for 75 years for reasons they cited as " the sake of the Nation".

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I have never
Seen an issue where everyone else knows what
is best for you, city slickers, easterners, unions,
goodales, martins, landlords, and on and on and
be damned if the wheat grower knows.
                    Unbelievable in a free society.
